Nelson Family Road Trip. January 15, 2010. We were sad to leave the Raineys and the quiet little town of Smackover, but we were excited to head South and see Louisiana. One of the first things we noticed was the bounteous supply of roadkill on the highways. I know…Gross! Bailey wants to give Santa a big shout out for her Taylor Swift CD. Its amazing how fast the entire family can memorize all 13 songs when you hear them over, and over, and over, and over. Another tour we went on was the Laura Plantation.

Nelson Family Road Trip. January 15, 2010. We tried to explain to them how different this was for us. We went out to Vicksburg one day and took in the Vicksburg National Military Park. The Battle of Vicksburg was a turning point in the Civil War as it gave the Union control of the Mississippi River. Nelson Family Road Trip. February 11, 2010. All the bad weather was a distant memory in Orlando. Temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees will do that. We were very tempted to stay in Orlando a little longer, but we figured one week was ample. We had a great time at the Kennedy Space Center. While it isn’t as hands on for kids, they had a loooooooonnnnngggg and fun day. All the displays and sites were fun, but I think we all enjoyed spotting alligators on the island the most. Nelson Family Road Trip. December 22, 2009. We had a chance to go see the USS Lexington while we were there and we had a great time. We went to a church Christmas party with the D’Andreas. It was a pajama party and we had breakfast for dinner. How fun! Susan helped the girls learn a few songs and they sang with all the kids as part of the Christmas program. When you have a day that begins with water and sun you have to wonder what will be next. The day was very memorable and we will have fond memories forever. Driving while looking backwards. Wednesday, June 30, 2010. We spent a Saturday a few weeks ago at the Nimbus Fish Hatchery. The kids were able to feed the rainbow trout. They had trout that were 4 months old up to 18 months. It was a blast. Jeanine and Christian Brown. I went out of town this last week and when I came home I had this waiting for me. They are so beautiful. I am so happy to have no more carpet in the living room. The floor should be just a tad bit cleaner than the carpet. Skip To My Lou.
