The Deva Station: Regents and princes
http://madeincheshire.blogspot.com/2008/02/chester-being-such-ancient-city-its.html
Made in Cheshire - a roll call of Chester blogs. Sunday, 10 February 2008. Chester being such an ancient city, it's steeped in rich pickings for those interested in local history. Modern-day Deva has quite a few local writers publishing books on various aspects of Chester's past. But so far, I've only found one blog. Sue Wilkes. Sue's blog is still in its infancy but her posts on literature in between updates on her career as a published author are well worth a look. Posted by Louise B. In Search of Adam.

Made in Cheshire - a roll call of Chester blogs. Sunday, 17 February 2008. Pressing matters - when papers get blogging. Two of our local newspapers, the Chester Chronicle and the Chester Evening Leader, are now offering blogging facilities on their websites to readers. Of the five on the Chronicle's site, one looked potentially interesting as it seemed to be about the Literature Festival. And is quite entertaining, and the fifth is the personal blog of Chronicle columnist John Buckley. Posted by Louise B.

The Best Advice He Ever Got. I usually roll my eyes when I hear “positive”, “self-help”, “life-changing” and the like in any book title, news article or blog-post, all the more so when professed by gurus with multi-million dollar media franchises. Having said that, there’s the occasional odd bit of gyan. That transcends such cynicism and does change one’s perspective a bit. In 2008, Harvard Business Publishing asked Marshall Goldsmith. You can't believe how inefficient the city government is! Undeterred ...

The lone gourmet: The cook
http://thelonegourmet.blogspot.com/p/cook.html
Adventures in the kitchen for solo food lovers. I'm a journalist, editor, author and blogger. And a very keen cook. I've been a journalist and editor for more years than I care to remember, and have written for a huge range of papers and magazines. I've edited even more. I used to blog anonymously as Wordsmith for Hire. Until I ran out of things to say as as a home-based freelance wordsmith. I occasionally blog on behalf of my cat. I contribute even less occasionally to Where's the Benefit. Decades later...

The Deva Station: November 2007
http://madeincheshire.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Made in Cheshire - a roll call of Chester blogs. Monday, 19 November 2007. I admit to being fascinated by Red Kite's blog, Adventures in Records Management. It's a very interesting glimpse into the working life of a civil servant responsible for data management. For those working in the same field or affected by such issues, there's some pretty solid info in there, but Red Kite also has a wry sense of humour and a deft touch with words, as evidenced by his l atest post. The Deva Station: January 2008
http://madeincheshire.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Made in Cheshire - a roll call of Chester blogs. Wednesday, 30 January 2008. Ever wondered what it might be like to have a living, breathing Victor Meldrew type living on your doorstep? I have one as a near neighbour, as I'm sure many of you do. But not many local Meldrews are blogging. So, a big hello to Simon Brattlel of the Grumbles. Modern life being as it is, I can identify with quite a few of Simon's rants, as I'm sure many others do. Posted by Louise B. Links to this post. Thursday, 17 January 2008.
