Well we certainly saw some cooler temperatures last week but this week looks like it is going to turn out to be quite nice! I spent all last week subbing in a BD classroom. Our fourth grade journey! Thursday, January 10, 2013. Bringing the blog back. Rare opportunities don't come along often, but I have been given one and I am very grateful and thrilled. On January 7th, I took over for a fourth grade classroom at Altoona Elementary. Mrs. R moved to Mississippi when her husband was transferred for his job. I am so excited to be back in fourth grade. I had the great pleasure of visiting the VFW on Monday night, February 14th to hear the essay winners of the VFW's "I Love America" essay contest. Sam M. from our class and Delanie V. from Mrs. Hanshaw's class were the winners for fourth grade! Sam wrote a short essay of why he loves America. Our fourth grade journey! Friday, April 29, 2011. On Thursday, April 28, fourth graders had a great opportunity to learn more about bicycle safety. The Iowa Department of Public Health received a Community Wellness Grant to help educate the fourth graders on bicycle safety! Each fourth grade class in the Fairfield Community School District is receiving a 1 hour lesson. The bonus was getting a free bicycle helmet which was purchased through the wellness grant at A.J.'s Bicycle Shop! Links to this post.

Well the 2012 softball season has kicked off already with the Titans putting a few games under their belt already in the Men's Intercity Competition. This years team holds a solid 9 players with new players Josh and Kyle joining the squad. The Titans did take out the Team Home Run Derby, scoring a cheque for $250.00 (Kyle and Jeremy).
