Archive for April, 2007. April 18, 2007. Designs have been released for Alaska’s commemorative quarter. As we all should know, it will be the second-to-last quarter to be released. Here are the contenders:. You can go here. To leave comments on the designs. I am a little bit torn between the midnight sun/polar bear design and the dog mushing design. I think the polar bear one is prettiest, but as you all know, I. I think that one will have my vote. The quarters won’t be coming out until 2008. And now tha...

http://loulanelambertslistsforlife.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Loulane Lambert's Lists for Life. By Barbara Larmon Failing. Monday, May 10, 2010. The beginning of May heralds all sorts of things from warm weather to flowers to the prom (which I'm not going to because it's only for seniors, so I have three more years to worry about that. But in Suskeegach, May also means the arrival of the first cruise ship of the season. And as for me, I like having these one-day guests around. I like sharing my home, my Suskeegach with them. Tuesday, May 4, 2010. I am a writer of b...

Loulane Lambert's Lists for Life: Break-up Time
http://loulanelambertslistsforlife.blogspot.com/2010/05/break-up-time.html
Loulane Lambert's Lists for Life. By Barbara Larmon Failing. Tuesday, May 4, 2010. No, I'm not talking about a boy-girl break-up here. I'm talking ice. In late April or early May the temperature starts to rise a bit, and the ice starts breaking up in the big rivers like the Yukon, the Kuskokwim. Since 1917, the town of Nenana. Has fun with this by sponsoring the Nenana. Ice Classic, a contest to see who can name the exact time when the ice goes out on the Tanana. Here's this year's photo of the Nenana.

However, the Tanana River officially broke up on April 24th at 2:25 pm Alaska Standard Time. Http:/ www.nenanaakiceclassic.com/. Tripod moved but not moving. Not free of ice but no more tripod:. One timed from start of year. Watts Up With That?

My Feet Dream of Wandering: June 2010
http://myfeetdreamofwandering.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
My Feet Dream of Wandering. A girl from Fairbanks, Alaska travels the world to expand her horizons. My stepfather often told me, when I was being unreasonable: "Why don't you broaden your pitifully narrow horizons." This blog reflects my desire to do just that. It involves tales of my adventures in extraordinary places but also ordinary places made extraordinary by the people encountered and the food. Monday, June 28, 2010. Accidentally landed and later founded Fairbanks. That's the new courthouse. Inter...

Who am I to say?: April 2008
http://maybe-she-does.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Who am I to say? Musing, pondering, and observation from a woman with too little time and too many unread books. Monday, April 28, 2008. Ric, a really nice guy with from Miami. Hilary, a charming lassie from NYC. And Tania, a slightly giddy gal from North Pole. All I can plead is that my brain got all excited and I messed up. But it was fun. And now I can sing along with the Weird Al song in a completely sincere manner. Links to this post. Sunday, April 27, 2008. Baa Baa Meme Sheep, have you any takers?
