NephiCode: It’s a Matter of Attitude – Part I
http://nephicode.blogspot.com/2015/08/its-matter-of-attitude-part-i.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2015. It’s a Matter of Attitude – Part I. Not long ago someone sent me a lengthy writing about Nephi and his reaction to the Lord telling him to go build a ship. They used this as a means to suggest that Nephi was, in fact, a ship builder o f. 8221; (1 Nephi 17:9). Iron ore mine where it is now understood that iron in primeval seas rusted by bacteria and form obvious deposits that can be seen where seas have receded over time where. Just as they do in geological iron formations.

Saturday, February 28, 2015. Personal Bias Drives Science. From chipping stone to hollowing out a gourd for drinking to making ceramic pottery—these are the stages of archaeology. In addition, archaeology has several stages -. Simply put and speaking generally, they are found in the following categories:. 8226; Paleolithic (old stone [age])—2.6 million to 12,000 years ago; when they claim humans developed from Homo bibilis. 8226; Pottery Neolithic—5500 to 3800 B.C. invention of the kiln and...8226; Iron ...

Hites could understand the Mulekites. Comment #2: “ Since Jared seemed to be the Jaredite leader, why did the Lord not instruct him, like he did Moses, rather than Jared’s brother? Comment #3: “ When did Moroni abridge the Jaredite record? It is a disgusting description of how far the Nephites had fallen (th...

NephiCode: Are Laman and Lemuel Misunderstood? – Part I
http://nephicode.blogspot.com/2015/08/are-laman-and-lemuel-misunderstood-part.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. Are Laman and Lemuel Misunderstood? 8211; Part I. In our day of Political Correctness and concerned hearts that see the good in all people, despite their deeds, we find an interesting dichotomy regarding feelings and evaluations today about Laman and Lemuel and the sons of Ishmael. As one person wrote: “We can easily see Laman and Lemuel as being lost from the start, almost like stock characters in a novel, having little depth or complexity.” Of course, this is no ...Honor thy fat...

Thursday, April 30, 2015. What is Wrong With Being a Literalist? Not long ago in a discussion, an acquaintance, annoyed at a scriptural response to his question I gave him, said half in disgust, “ Oh, you’re a literalist. 8221; I told him that, if by that comment he meant I accept the scriptural record the way it is written and go by it, I told him “yes.”. Do scriptures sometimes mean more than we think they do? Quite often. Do scriptures mean something other than what they say? 8221; (2 Nephi 31:3).

Monday, August 3, 2015. 350 Years of Nephite Development – Part I. I was in a discussion not long ago regarding what some theorists considered a lack of Nephite construction during the first 350 years they spent in the Land of Nephi, after building the city of Nephi. This idea first began, as far as I know, with Thomas Stuart Ferguson and Milton R. Hunter in their book, Ancient America And the Book of Mormon. Of course, the answers are evident in their writing, when they went on to say: “Actually t...

Tuesday, August 4, 2015. 350 Years of Nephite Development – Part II. Continuing with the last post on 350 Years of Nephite Development, and more on the discrepancy of Hunter and Ferguson claiming the Nephites were not involved in much building and expansion during the period between Nephi’s arrival in the Land of Nephi and Mosiah leaving that land to discover Zarahemla—a period of about 350 years (though they list it as 400 years). Hunter and Ferguson, in their book, Ancient America And the Book of Mormon.

Thus we have two schools of thought with which we deal when trying to use Carbon-14 dates resulting from testing on the basis of Willard F. Libby’s time clock, referred to within the system of radiometric dating or radiocarbon dating. 8221; we received several comments and questions about this issue—pro...

NephiCode: The Fall of the Lamanites – Part II
http://nephicode.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-fall-of-lamanites-part-ii.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. The Fall of the Lamanites – Part II. Mormon, himself, in the final two decades of the war said that “ it was impossible for the tongue to describe, or for man to write a perfect description of the horrible scene of the blood and carnage which was among the people, both of the Nephites and of the Lamanites; and every heart was hardened, so that they delighted in the shedding of blood continually”. Instead, the Inca occupied the towns and villages, the buildings and cities, the Neph...
