Patchwork Alley: August 2015
http://patchworkalley.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, 10 August 2015. Im a Mad Hatter . A little while ago I came across this pattern for a reversible bucket hat. From Liesl at Oliver S. I think it came from her book Little Things To Sew originally but is now available as a downloadable PDF. At first I thought I would just make 2, for my friend Emma's two young boys, but I found I couldn't stop once I started! I've made loads now and I'm really pleased with how easily they come together! Have fun and let me know how you get on . I'm including th...

http://patchworkalley.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, 12 April 2014. I have read with keen interest some of the fabulous blogs that are joining in with this years Finish Along 2014 hosted by. Katy at The Littlest Thistle. I missed the first quarter, so I have had a few weeks to prepare to share. Some of my unfinished works in progress (WIPs) and to sort out which I think I might be able to finish . at some point soon. I think I would like to quote Yvonne over at Nellie's Niceties. When she explained her reasons for joining in:. 2) Arthur's cushion...

http://patchworkalley.blogspot.com/2015/02/one-project-month-opam.html
Friday, 27 February 2015. One Project a Month (OPAM). I came across this challenge through my quilting friend Celine. Amazingly we've both been doing similar things this month, including Elsa dresses. Basically, you are trying to complete at least one project a month . hence the title. No pressure but lots of fun and links to other crafty bods and blogs! It's being hosted by Kris of Tag Along Teddies. And Peg of Happy in Quilting. It's been a busy month:. Nick's had surgery and is now recovering well.

Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary: January 2013
http://maweehens.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary. Thursday, 31 January 2013. The Scots Dumpy was first out of the house this morning. I opened the pop hole at 8am and they were squawking to get on with their day. The two Orpingtons seemed to struggle with balancing on their way down the ramp, they seem too heavy for their little feet and take the ramp cautiously. There was a slight frost this morning and it was very cold. Only the Scots Dumpy ventured out from the roofed run and entered the caged area. The Scots Dumpy came o...

Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary: February 2013

Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary. Monday, 25 February 2013. The continuing diagnosis of our ill hen. Poor Didee. She was hunkered down beneath the door ramp today, staying out of the wind. I brought her inside today to spend some time with me in the warmth. We sat by a heater and I feed her a mixture of milky bread, wheat and barley seeds and some cheese. She really loved all of it! But I think she has a special like for cheese now! Thursday, 21 February 2013. Red lines and a Bouncing Rosie. Strangely though,...

Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary: June 2013
http://maweehens.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary. Sunday, 23 June 2013. Our top hen Matilda has gone broody! I can't believe it! And we have no fertilised eggs for her either. She has dropped lots of feathers from under her tummy and is sitting in one of the nest boxes ON NOTHING! It is really a bit funny. So now we have only been getting 3 eggs at the most. Has anyone got any other ideas that they've found successful? I don't know what this will do to the pecking order, as she is the top hen, and is a really gentle leader.

Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary: July 2013
http://maweehens.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary. Friday, 19 July 2013. The Brood is Broken. Our top hen Matilda has been broody for over a month now and despite all of our efforts to break her brooding we had not succeeded, until now. These aren't my red mites, I got the photo from the internet. Click photo for the source. Matilda being ousted for an entire day and not being able to sit seems to have cured her of her broodiness at last! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sharing my happy life in Scotland. Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary: February 2014
http://maweehens.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary. Friday, 21 February 2014. Colours to tell them all Apart! We now have three hens that are all black bantam Australorps and it can be difficult to tell them apart from a distance. It is easy when we're outside with them, as Olive is the smallest and has scaly, lumpy legs. Queenie is the largest and has an unusual pronged part to her comb, and Rosie is the most confident and always seems to be around us. Rosie has a red ring - rosy red makes sense. Yellow = Daisy, Sunny, Gloria,.

Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary: November 2013
http://maweehens.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Ma Wee Hens - Chicken Diary. Monday, 11 November 2013. We have had some crisp and frosty mornings here lately, with the sun no longer reaching to the top of the sky, but the Autumn time is just beautiful and well worth the colder and darker days. Poor Whitey Didee doesn't seem to get a lot of sun in her isolated pen area, so when I have some time I have locked the others into their run and allowed Didee out on her own to get some sun on her back. Didee is such a tame and fun little bird. Helping her ...
