Infinity Dresses…for Little Girls | sew in harmony
http://sewinharmony.com/infinity-dresses-for-little-girls
I’ve Been Featured! Infinity Dresses…for Little Girls. January 11, 2013. This week’s Project Run and Play. Challenge was to remix the Party Dress from The Cottage Home. I have to admit I struggled with this one. A pattern like this is very basic and yet very specific. A basic, lined bodice is pretty much the foundation for almost any garment. AND I had made dresses almost exactly like this before. (The girls’ Easter dresses. I loved this idea! What I ended up creating is a simple tank dress made of a two...

I’ve Been Featured! September 9, 2014. I am back for another season of Project Run and Play! The first challenge this cycle is one of my favorites from all the cycles…Eighties Cartoons! There was so much to choose from and I knew I would be able to come up with something fun from lots of different cartoons. So, we’ll start with Cheer Bear Esther since that was my jumping off point. All the curved seams! For our little Funshine Bear Miriam, I also used the Tea Party. This I wanted to look like the sun...

The Pickled Herring: January 2015
http://the-pickled-herring.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 26, 2015. I feel like Ryan and I have had some really good food lately and I just wanted to make a list of things so I don't forget them. Sorry this post will be boring and sans pictures. This past weekend we ate at the Pie Hole. We also walked to this Italian restaurant in our neighborhood called Spumante. We've walked by it many times in the almost 4 years we've lived in our neighborhood, but always forgot to go back to it. I'm so glad we tried it out because it is so good! Was so good&...

Cosi Swimsuit by Sew Pony Vintage! If you think sewing a swimsuit is scary, please raise your hand! I would have put two hands up originally myself. I never liked the idea of sewing with slippery fabric. I just figured it would be too hard and I would end up super frustrated. Well when a testing opportunity arrived I was rather curious to try one. So I signed up for Sew Pony’s. Cosi Swimsuit tester group. Luckily I was picked! Ready to try your hand at it? I promise it really isn’t that scary! Don’...

August 16, 2010. De-Stashing the Fabric Stash. I must confess…I love my fabric stash! I love the vintage finds, thrift finds, yard sale, and estate sale finds. Oh, they’re my pride and joy! Just Kidding) But, I do get “fabric stash phobia” on occasion where I’m afraid to cut into one of those precious finds. What if I mess up? Or is it just me? It’s really quite annoying. Thankfully, I found a great site here. And joined a De-Stash challenge. “Oh, but your fear of commitment”, you say? July 23, 2010.

The Pickled Herring: August 2014
http://the-pickled-herring.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 21, 2014. Ryan and I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Chicago! We were there for exactly 24 hours. Red-eye flight on Friday, followed by sister-hangout-time, followed by an awesome wedding, then trip back to the airport to catch our 5:00 AM flight back home on Sunday. Phew. We. Are. Tired. But we had so much fun! Got to have some sister hangout time! It was so good to see her sweet face. And then got to see these crazy kids! We also got to play some bocce ball! What was I thinking?
