Ahref="http:/ bp2.blogger.com/ 4AaJ8-BL0BI/RyhXA36phJI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/BRnZM9wy-Zk/s1600-h/DSC00314.JPG". I noticed Muriel's hand while teaching piano on Monday. She actually has natural, good hand position. This is practically unheard of. More than that, though, I realized that I have been teaching her for over a year and this is the first time I noticed how naturally gifted she is at sitting with her hands on the keys. Where has my attention been for the last year? But, alas, at the end of the day on Sunda...

LOVE WINS.: December 2007

The church should be standing up for the oppressed in the same manner as the buffalo. We can learn a lot from Africa. An old journal entry. I found my old journals as I was cleaning my room today. I remember every entry in my camp journal from '04. I don't remember any of the entries from my first two years of teaching journal that spans over a year of time, but on has writing in a third of it. Needless to say, they are a good distraction from what I should be doing. I bet we all bark. Merry Christmas...

LOVE WINS.: July 2007
http://misshepherd-ordinaryfolk.blogspot.com/2007_07_01_archive.html
With love, from Uganda. This a letter I just sent to my family. I hope you enjoy it! One of my goals when I get back to Indianapolis is to do a photo blog of some of my favorite pictures.keep me accountable! The ride from Entebbe was about an hour and we were all shoved into a "taxi," which translates as mini-van. They are these incredibly beat-up old vans with animal print velour seats. I happened to sit on one that had a large piece of metal sticking out from it! The afternoons have been spent travelin...

LOVE WINS.: June 2008

The Game of Tag. My friend Jess told me that I'm in in an online game of blog tag-and since I am no stranger to quirks, I figured this might be fun. Immediately below are the rules to the game. Ok the rules. Once you’ve been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird, random, facts, habits or goals about yourself. At the end, choose 6 people to be tagged, list their names and why you tagged them. Don’t forget to leave them a comment saying “You’re it! 8 I can read and write forwards and backwards....

LOVE WINS.: January 2008
http://misshepherd-ordinaryfolk.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
We are not afraid! We are not afraid! We are not afraid.today! Oh, deep in my heart,. We shall overcome someday. The past couple weeks have been a whirlwind of activity for me. Growing closer to God in new ways, experiencing new love, learning what it means to attempt to be balanced, attempting to be healthy, exercising, loving my parents and friends. The entire class would triple their sound. Some to the point where I would have to remind them to sing and not shout. If I took a stand, really loved peopl...

LOVE WINS.: May 2008
http://misshepherd-ordinaryfolk.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Common Ground has had me really convicted lately. Well, the church establishment hasn't, but what God has been speaking through the mouths of the preachers has. And not because it is anything new or shocking, but because the words being spoken are all essential truths which have shaped my path for this time on earth. But a few things have been shaping this view recently. Second, I ran across this quote from. That's hell right now—not hell coming down the line. Finally, today I read this, Acts 1:7-11:.

Where is my hope? Sorry if this seems graphic, but I promise God is teaching me through my uterus. I have always had problems with my uterus since I started my period when I was 11. Things have always been a bit chaotic and painful. I had my first ultrasound when I was 18 and been on and off different medications to "fix" the problems since then. Nothing has ever worked. Recently, I had another ultrasound and a tumor was discovered at the base of my uterus. The Lord is my hope, not a doctor. While my act...

LOVE WINS.: Redemption
http://misshepherd-ordinaryfolk.blogspot.com/2008/05/redemption.html
I see redemption in my students on a daily basis.children that are written off by society doing amazing things. I saw one such instance today. And it was in such a way that I imagine that no one else saw it happen. Nathan is one of my favorites. He is a handful of a child who never, ever shuts up and says the most inappropriate things to both students and adults, but he is charming. And very teachable. To know Nathan is to love him. It made me feel like the world was good and everyone was happy. I love G...

LOVE WINS.: a little update
http://misshepherd-ordinaryfolk.blogspot.com/2008/06/little-update.html
Well, in about two weeks the address for this blog will be null and void, well kind of. It will probably take more than two weeks to get the name change, but in two weeks I will be allowed to apply for a name change. I also am totally stoked about turning 26, 'tis the last year of my mid-twenties. What will the late 20's bring? Possibly children and a new home. Maybe even a white picket fence in the 'hood. And movies will be "ours.". I'm tagging you for a blog game :) read my blog to find out the rules!
