http://nettiatkins.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Art for Art's Sake. Friday, 14 September 2012. Craft Barn Art Journal Challenge. Oh, go on then - let's throw caution to the wind and submit my next two pages to the Craft Barn Art Journal Challenge. I think I'm improving, helped a lot by my new purchases of Dylusions stamps and spray inks which I bought at the summer Craft Barn Extravaganza. I drew the frog's body, raindrops and lily pad myself.you can probably tell, LOL! Let the Journal begin! Well, it IS my first attempt - LOL! Got to Stamp Club!

Art for Art's Sake: July 2012
http://nettiatkins.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Art for Art's Sake. Saturday, 21 July 2012. After the Craft Barn. I went to the summer Craft Barn Extravaganza a few weeks ago. What a great crafting event and a great chance to meet up with all my lovely forum friends from Cardmaking Paradise too! Apart from the social aspect and lots of laughs, there were, as always, some great demos going on so we all went home with new goodies from the shop but a huge amount of inspiration and new techniques to try. I love this effect! I used Dylusions ink sprays on ...

Art for Art's Sake: February 2013
http://nettiatkins.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Art for Art's Sake. Saturday, 16 February 2013. I haven't been posting for a long while now and probably will not be able to for a while yet but you never know. The love of my life, my darling husband, was diagnosed with cancer back in November - a huge and devastating shock. This changes your life forever. We are hitting it with all we've got and he's halfway through his first three months of chemotherapy. Be patient with me and I hope I may have the energy to create again in time. Life Through A Lens.

http://nettiatkins.blogspot.com/2012/09/let-journal-begin.html
Art for Art's Sake. Friday, 14 September 2012. Let the Journal begin! Okay, so I have begun to have a go at my first art journal, having bought a few blank books for the purpose last time I was in London. This is the cover I made using the black of the cover as my background colour. Well, it IS my first attempt - LOL! Never mind, we live and learn. And I'm going to even, bravely, show you my first ever journal page I did way back in June - baby steps! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Make a moo or two.

Art for Art's Sake: Another Lynne Perrella Wall Hanging
http://nettiatkins.blogspot.com/2012/10/another-lynne-perrella-wall-hanging.html
Art for Art's Sake. Sunday, 7 October 2012. Another Lynne Perrella Wall Hanging. This time it was for the swap at our monthly Stamp Club. The theme was a wall hanging for an art room. I used the same oil pastel resist technique and Cuttlebug border as on my recent first attempt on which I also used a Lynne Perrella stamp. I enjoyed that so much I thought I would do another similar one. The top scroll is made from a bit of dishwasher tablet cardboard box, painted with various acrylic paints to make it loo...

Art for Art's Sake: September 2011
http://nettiatkins.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Art for Art's Sake. Wednesday, 28 September 2011. The tree is finished! Yes, I finally did it but, as I will be sending it to someone in a few week's time, I'm not putting a photo up of it yet.suspense, suspense! Meanwhile, I've been looking at these new Pan Pastels on the market. I've been thinking of buying myself a set of soft pastels after doing a mixed media workshop but they seem so messy - the powder goes everywhere. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Art for Art's Sake: March 2012
http://nettiatkins.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Art for Art's Sake. Wednesday, 21 March 2012. At our last local Stamp Club meet-up, we swapped altered mint tins - tiny tins they were so it was quite a challenge. The theme to follow was 'Wings'.a great excuse for my favourite subject for art which is angels. I used a test pot of housepaint which more or less matched the base of the tin - a turquoise colour and also used Distress Crackle in Weathered Wood. Around the edge of the tin I stamped a Kelly Panacci border stamp. I love the way Jacqui has layer...

Art for Art's Sake: January 2012
http://nettiatkins.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Art for Art's Sake. Tuesday, 31 January 2012. Sunday at Beachy Head. We went for a brisk walk along the seafront at Eastbourne on Sunday and then up to Beachy Head where I took some photos of a dramatic sky. The sun was shining in just the right place to catch the white cliffs and I have some quite stunning shots, though I say so myself.LOL! That's me on the right in the silly but lovely and warm hat and that's my friend Penny with me who was visiting us for the day. And finally.the completed tree! The b...
