The moans and groans of CCIE #38338. March 2, 2013. Middot; by David Rothera. Well since passing my CCIE R&S I’ve been sat at the crossroads of where to go to next. I have multiple things that I’m interested in doing:. I think I’m going to go for the SP track next, it makes the most sense in what I do day-to-day but at the same time some of the new DC technologies are pretty interesting. About

http://networkbroadcast.co.uk/about-2

The moans and groans of CCIE #38338. I’m David, a 24-year old network engineer from the Leeds area of the UK. I work for a large service provider in the Yorkshire area herding packets for customers and making sure they all fit in the correct pipe. This blog is a place for my thoughts, notes, issues and general rants on networking and sometime other topics. I am a CCIE in Routing and Switching and the owner of #38338, at present I am studying towards my second CCIE which is the CCIE Service Provider.

Back when I first starting using the 7K’s I thought the naming of the line cards followed the same logical naming scheme of all other Cisco equipment (by that I mean there is no logic to it at all! It was when I was watching one of this years Cisco Live presentations on the 7K architecture that it all became a lot clearer. Larr; CCIE Update and plaque.

The moans and groans of CCIE #38338. Time to put my SP hat on. Time to put my SP hat on. March 4, 2013. Middot; by David Rothera. Well I’ve decided to take on the CCIE SP next. Given that there is a lot of overlap between the two tracks and that I use a lot of the technology (multicast aside) in my day job it should be quite good. I might try and get an IS-IS post up tomorrow just to cover off some things and so anyone can point any glaring holes in my logic 😛. Leave a Reply Click here to cancel reply.

http://blog.movingonesandzeros.net/2014/11/ccie-bootcamp-first-two-days.html

Moving Ones and Zeros. Ramblings of a Network Engineer. CCIE Bootcamp - First Two Days. First two days of my CCIE bootcamp have been pretty good. David Smith, with INE, is great and he is very passionate about the topics. Dave's teaching style makes it super simple to stay focused and engaged. He has some great soap-box style rants and loves to points out screw-ups in IOS. I love it! PPP was, welll.PPP. I hate PPP and its one of those topics I have to suck it up and get comfortable with. Another topic th...

MY STORY – Cloud At A Cost

On June 28th, my VPS started to experience major packet loss. So I did what anyone would do and opened a support ticket with my service provider. A few days, I still recieved no replies. All while my server was experiencing anywhere from between 5% to 95% packet loss. I encourage you to scan social media websites if you need any extra confirmation. UPDATE: 07/11/2014 @ 6:00PM. Moving Ones & Zeros: October 2014

http://blog.movingonesandzeros.net/2014_10_01_archive.html

Moving Ones and Zeros. Ramblings of a Network Engineer. I leave tomorrow morning for my INE 10-Day CCIE bootcamp. In Seattle. Im both very excited and nervous for what's in store over the next 14 days. From what I gather both weeks consist of 10-14 hour days of pure geeky R&S goodness. I can easily see my brain being turned into mush on a daily basis. But that is what I love about this field! Either way this is going to be a fun trip! Tools I will be using:. Used to document DocCD pages, RFCs and online ...

Moving Ones and Zeros. Ramblings of a Network Engineer. Cisco Nexus - Part 4.3 - vPC Failure Scenarios. Moving Ones and Zeros. Ramblings of a Network Engineer. CCIE Bootcamp - Second week. The second week of my INE 10 Day bootcamp went a lot quicker than expected. Week two though was just as intense as the first week. Dave did a great job on Monday of breaking down MPLS VPNs and really solidified my understanding of the control and data plane within MPLS VPNs.
