The end… and the beginning | Neurodivergent Learner

https://neurodivergentlearner.wordpress.com/2014/08/31/the-end-and-the-beginning

Documenting my progress on Coursera's 'Learn how to Learn'. The end… and the beginning. I’ve just submitted my peer evaluations for the final project of Learning how to Learn, which brings the course to an end. Tomorrow I start back at university after a long summer break, so it’s time to do my best to put all the learnings from the course into practice. Whilst I was clearing out the apps on my phone I found one that I downloaded quite some time ago and never used, called Habit List. August 31, 2014.

Interleaving | Neurodivergent Learner

https://neurodivergentlearner.wordpress.com/2014/08/27/interleaving

Documenting my progress on Coursera's 'Learn how to Learn'. I briefly mentioned interleaving,. The concept of mixing up your learning, when I discussed my anatomy flashcards. By practising interleaving you not only make your brain work that bit harder by switching focus, but you also avoid the trap of learning how to solve a problem, but not when to apply it, thus becoming blinded to other possible solutions (this is known as Einstellung. The joys of flash cards | Neurodivergent Learner

https://neurodivergentlearner.wordpress.com/2014/08/25/the-joys-of-flash-cards

Documenting my progress on Coursera's 'Learn how to Learn'. The joys of flash cards. I’ve just created my first flash cards of the new academic year. A whole week before the academic year actually begins, and for a module which we only reach 5 weeks into the first semester. I’m feeling proud of myself! This blog has been an incentive in getting started early as it allows me to explore the concepts described in Learning how to Learn. Probably the main study skill addressed by flash cards is that of recall.

Documenting my progress on Coursera's 'Learn how to Learn'. The rise of flashcards. When I revised for my first year exams, I relied heavily on electronic flash cards, using the Brainscape. App That worked pretty well, but had the disadvantage that I had a short amount of time to produce a huge amount of cards to cover a year’s work. As a result, the act of making the cards became rushed and I had little time to test myself on them. August 14, 2014. 6 thoughts on “ The rise of flashcards. Well, a sneak p...

Documenting my progress on Coursera's 'Learn how to Learn'. Techniques such as Pomodoro not only help reduce procrastination by lowering the angst of starting a task, but also by changing your focus from the end product you’re aiming for to the process of creating that end product.
