Last Friday, September 21st, was World Alzheimers Day and in keeping with recent tradition it was also the day that Alzheimers Disease International. There are few things more frightening than the thought of losing your mind. Losing those last shreds of awareness that tether you to your life and the people . Around you. If you’re lucky this notion will remain just that, a fear. An abstract . Watch it happen [1].

Recording from individual cells in genetically identified populations is the. A cool form of short-term plasticity (Yang, ., Sternson, 2011); and imaging has shown that these neurons undergo rapid spinogenesis. Given that basic model, there were many unanswered questions. How fast do AgRP neurons turn on and off? What rate do they fire at? Expressing GCaMP6s. These words are mine, please opine! Doing out of love instead of over thinking. At church, we have communion together on the first Sunday of the month usually during the third worship song. This Sunday, Emily was behind me and she was holding her squirmy baby and I felt as though I should offer her my bread and grape juice. Although I usually over-think these moments, yesterday, I just offered Emily the communion and she took it with a heartfelt “thank-you.”. Next post →. These words are mine, please opine! I work about 25 hours per week as a professional tutor at the local community college. Although I don’t like the idle times waiting for students to get help in Biology or Anatomy and Physiology, I do enjoy tutoring students. Because I’m working with students on an individual basis, I get to hear about their stories which are generally amazing but I won’t share them without written permission. We were both amazed. I agree with him. And You Will Know Me By The Trail of Papers. Thursday, January 8, 2015. The (Near) Future of Cell Type Specificity. If you miss the days of scientific tables, I suggest you check out the supplement of any genomics paper. So how can genomics be useful for neuroscience? So today I'd like to write about what cell specificity is, review two papers on single neuron transcriptomics, and the implications that this has on how systems neuroscience looks at cell-specific circuits. What is a cell type? Haubensak et...

Papers in Nature are (supposed to be) the complete package: reliable results that show something novel; cool techniques; a famous corresponding author.
