Thursday, August 31, 2006. On the words we use . The students in the professional school where i teach razzed me a lot last year about how punctilious i can be about the words we use. Be forewarned: the sound you will hear for the next 14 weeks will be the same broken record. only louder this time because i feel slightly more emboldened to run my mouth. Today, at our new student orientation, the dean of our college came in to make an appearance and welcome the first year students. I was about to spit.

Monday, August 11, 2008. My humor has improved. It has been several months since this happened but i woke myself up last night laughing. it was a sweet and wonderfully familiar feeling. I embraced the practice and the fog has lifted. Maybe it helped that i made a great salad last night, that the ablutions involved a long hot bath and lavender oil, and that i made a clear plan to see ms. bird.
