neurotic collections: Toast-O-Lator

http://www.neuroticcollections.blogspot.com/2012/07/toast-o-lator.html

Obsessive hoarding, compulsive saving, and illogical or logical collections as art. Wednesday, August 24, 2011. I always hated toast. Who wants to eat warm, stale bread? But recently, I have developed a love for the toaster, and I don't know that the two are necessarily related, but suddenly I think toast is delicious. The toasters themselves aren't so bad either. In fact, they are such a popular collectors item there is more than one website devoted to toaster collections. How is it displayed?

Obsessive hoarding, compulsive saving, and illogical or logical collections as art. Sunday, April 18, 2010. These are a couple of photographs I wanted to share from various museum archives. They were part of a show called Camera Obscured in 1997 curated by Vid Ingelevics and they can be seen. Visitors walking through dirt fields towards newly constructed Field Museum of Natural History, Grant Park, Chicago, 1921. Photographer: Charles Carpenter. These are really beautiful photos. It made me think of ...

neurotic city

You don't have to be crazy to live here, but it helps. Tuesday, August 4, 2015. I'd like to get back to blogging at least semi-regularly, but where do I even start? I guess I'll just try to ease into it by doing a photodump. Since E is at diabetes camp this week, how about I post the drop-off pics from the last 6 years. I bet we'll get a good chuckle about how the fashion has changed over time. I wonder if anything else has! We made sure E was wearing. A medical alert bracelet. HA! Is frequently misrepre...

Neurotic City | My secret shame goes public

My secret shame goes public. FFWDing to the Best Part. A Song That Makes You Fall Asleep: ‘And So It Goes,’ Billy Joel (1989). Posted in Pop-Cult, Cont. Maybe I’ll finish this “30 Day” song challenge before I die. 50/50 chance. Since it’s been a minute, I thought it wise to revisit the first nine spots on this challenge:. Day 9: A Song That You Can Dance To: Kiss Me Deadly, Lita Ford (1988). Day 8: A Song You Know All the Words To: ‘Baby Got Back,’ Sir Mix-a-Lot (1992). Admittedly I didn’t think ab...

Confessions of a Neurotic Mind

Confessions of a Neurotic Mind. You call this my blog. I call this my self-indulgent, self-loathing, narcisstic crap. It can be a religious uplift. It can be something depressing and melodramatic. It just fits in so many different places. It's the perpetual cookie cutter of songs. And when I get to the core of it all, I can only say that. really. that's probably why I love it so damned much. It makes me happy, sad, suicidal, sexy and a Jesus-cruiser in just three minutes. This is, isn't it? I'm constantl...
