Kary Lee Illustration: October 2013
http://karyleeillustration.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 25, 2013. A New Leaf for me! So, I'm at the airport. I'm booked on the three-thirty flight to Reno, headed to South Lake Tahoe, Fallen-Leaf resort. To be exact. It's been three months since I got the news. The news that could potentially, possibly, HOPEFULLY be a game changer in my career as a book illustrator. No pressure! I was selected as a mentee in SCBWI Nevada. Work, my choice was obvious. I was a little amazed to see a realistic illustrator on the faculty! Make it with realism.

BOOK DESIGN and ILLUSTRATION - DIGITAL and PRINT. Sunday, February 3, 2013. CHILDREN'S PUBLISHING: The Long Journey to Illustrate for Children. Hitting this milestone has made me reflect back, not only on my journey into children's publishing, but on the years leading up to it. After thinking about it all, I'm surprised I continued on, but that's how determined I am. It has been both fantastic and uncomfortable. In June 2007 I jumped ship to paddle the lonely waters and go back to pursuing a full-time li...

Twitter — #yesforrealz. August 4, 2016. So, I’m on Twitter now. And I have 28 followers! Yeah, I don’t get too excited about that either. They’re mostly local businesses, politicians, and writers or musicians trying to sell me something. When there was the wildfire threatening my boss’s neighborhood, the fire department was tweeting updates, which I then texted to the boss because his information was out of date. More on that later. Follow me @NevadaNerd. Or not. June 4, 2016. Comments Off on Rejected.
