February 21, 2010 at 8:49 pm. I tried that last semester (fall 2009) in Sports Information/Media and got some amazing media guides (that were created only using Power Point) that just blew me away! I know I still need to work on how I teach (a lot! And on creating more assignments that help students reach specific learning outcomes, but I’m aware of it now. I am working to try to make the experiences that students have in my classes at least. Of the greatest learning experiences they can have.

I named this blog New College Profs as a play on three main possibilities:. 1) It will cover topics that those new to teaching college might find interesting. 2) It will highlight new ways college professors (new or experienced) are teaching and getting students engaged. 3) The shortened “profs” also covers college professionals, those who may not be teaching, but who have an impact on college teaching and managing how colleges function. Our reputation when I was in college was that we were slackers, we weren’t committed at all to doing things well, that we blamed Boomers for screwing things up for us, etc. We were the grunge generation of flannel wearing Nirvana fans.
