New Earswick Nature Reserve. As part of the improvements to the field adjacent to the Nature Reserve we are creating a new hedge running along our southern boundary. We are holding two community tree planting days on Saturday 11 March and Saturday 18 March and would like to invite you to come along and leave your mark for years to come. New Earswick Nature Reserve. A unending variety of birds can be seen in the air and on the water as well as around the Nature Reserve. Kingfishers, Tits, and Treecreepers are regular visitors to the Reserve along with Sparrowhawks, Canada Geese and Moorhens. New Earswick Nature Reserve. Fishing at the Nature Reserve is the privilege of New Earswick Angling Club who run both Senior and Junior sections. Numbers are kept limited to ensure that the tranquillity and surrounding of the Reserves remain undamaged. The Senior Club was founded in 1948 and holds a match program every year on York DAA waters as well as some matches at the Reserve. Popularity ensures that there is always a waiting list for places and further details can be found at New Earswick AC.
