Reduces material cost by more than half compared to today’s refrigerator evaporator designs. Reduces the refrigerant charge required by refrigerators by more than half. The novel fin design has exceptional frost tolerance, breaking the conventional wisdom that low density fins must be used.

In July 2008, Newell Instruments installed a two-axis tracking photo voltaic array rated at 3.2kW. Assisting in the installation of the system was Habi-Tek. The solar array consists of 16, Sanyo HIT 200. Panels each with a power output of 200 Watts. Since its installation in mid-2008, the NI Lab solar PV system has produced over 13,000 kWh of energy, enough to keep a super-efficient house comfortable for two years or to drive an electric vehicle more than 50,000 miles!
