Newfoundland Recipes plus Many More! Tuesday, December 19, 2006. 2 pkgs yeast 4 cups lukewarm water 2 tsp sugar 1 cup molasses 3 tbsp butter 4 tsp salt 12 cups flour 3 cups raisins. Dissolve yeast in 1 cup of lukewarm water,add sugar,combine remaining 3 cups lukewarm water,molasses,and butter.Sift dry ingredients,add raisins.Mix well and let rise until double in size.Knead and let rise again.Put in loaf pans,bake at 375 degrees for 45 mins.Brush top with butter while hot.
