Mary Tafoya's Seriousbeading: Anasazi Corn
http://seriousbeader.blogspot.com/2009/07/anasazi-corn.html
Mixed Media Beadwork and Other Excitements from the Land of Enchantment. Saturday, July 18, 2009. Here's a new style of earring in my Etsy shop. The "cones" at the top are actually recycled shell casings, modified by the MOTH and moi. These amazing seed beads are so tiny, and they remind me of the ancient corn or maize varieties grown by the Anasazi and others in the Southwest and Mesoamerica. Take a look at these images from Seeds of Change. If you don't know what I'm talking about:. MCW Beads and More.

http://seriousbeader.blogspot.com/2008/07/perfect-timing-day.html
Mixed Media Beadwork and Other Excitements from the Land of Enchantment. Tuesday, July 15, 2008. This am I woke up with just enough time to get ready, at a leisurely pace, for the airport. Even had time for coffee! Considering the snafus and delays that can occur when travelling, this has been a perfect day. Particularly if you like tacky souvenirs ;-). I bought Papa a ridiculously expensive fuzzy monkey. The one I got is sort of like this, but not quite as fancy. And if I'd had an extra $1,200 or so I'd...

Mary Tafoya's Seriousbeading: WIP Bead Embroidered Cuff Bracelet
http://seriousbeader.blogspot.com/2012/03/wip-beaded-cuff-bracelet.html
Mixed Media Beadwork and Other Excitements from the Land of Enchantment. Tuesday, March 27, 2012. WIP Bead Embroidered Cuff Bracelet. Ere's a work in progress where I stitched "magic flowers" and partial blossoms along a vine of assorted seed beads. The background is made with wavy lines of turquoise true cuts (size 11-0). Because bracelets tend to be subjected to everyday abuse, wear and tear, I'll reinforce the sequins again with a separate thread, before I mount the beadwork onto the metal. A great bo...
