Found A Christian By His Grace.: Untangled~
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/07/untangled.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. Every woman has a tangle or two in her life- a knot in her heart that keeps her from living fully free. Sometimes the knots are made of tiny threads, and sometimes they seem to be chains forged from steel. Some knots can be untied quickly, a words of guidance or encouragement amid a hard day will suffice. The harder knots may require bolt-cutters: God's grace and much human wisdom. Carey addresses some of the specific strings that can trip us up, drawing from her own experiences.

Found A Christian By His Grace.: "Questions Jesus Asks"
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/08/questions-jesus-asks.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. As much as we all think we'd prefer answers, sometimes what we really need is a question. A question can cut us right in half, pare us down to our deepest secrets, reveal the truth we already knew. Jesus asked a lot of question. Who you you think I am? Has no one condemned you? Why have you forsaken me? What are you seeking? Each chapter is short and to the point, making this ideal for a Bible study (one chapter per question) or as a faith-enriching read. Here is light to enlighte...

Found A Christian By His Grace.: Together with You~
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/08/together-with-you.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. Together with You" is a strong story that hits all the right notes of hope and reality. The hope comes when the characters realize that they can build a very good life, even when their reality will include hard choices and perpetual struggles. It is a wonder that all the steps and stops of her life would take her so far from her roots. We meet her in California, living in a doctors home, as a nanny/caregiver for his motherless daughter. I'll be on the lookout for another book by...

Found A Christian By His Grace.: Thriving in Babylon~
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/07/thriving-in-babylon.html
Friday, July 17, 2015. Hope, Humility, and Wisdom. They matter if you're trying to live well in a troubled world. For Daniel, his troubled world was Babylon. For you and I, it's probably some corner of America. I've actually heard serious discussion about whether America is the "Babylon" of prophecy. We won't quibble about that.). Let's take the comparison between those places this far: when we look around our world we too see a lot of not-gods being exalted and leaving their worshippers empty. He lived ...

Found A Christian By His Grace.: No Fear in Love~
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/08/no-fear-in-love.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. No Fear in Love. Half-way through this book, Any Braner quotes his friend Bob. Bob's thoughts were an affirmation of everything that Andy was learning, and they could be a reorientation for the evangelical church. We all fear things. The question is, what will we do with that fear? Specific to the topic of this book, what do we do with the fear of the Other and the Unknown that we encounter as Christians journeying in the Wide World? How do we give others what matters so much to ...

Found A Christian By His Grace.: Tattered and Mended
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/07/tattered-and-mended.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Battered. Broken. Frayed. Cast-off. Shattered. Torn. Tarnished. Those words describe the way that human hearts and souls can sometimes feel. Painful to read it, isn't it? But who hasn't lived this list in one way or another? Who doesn't know their own tattered edges? Now, another list. Rescued. Pieced-together. Reclaimed. Healed. Restored. These words describe what God can do, if He is offered our raw and ragged materials to work with. Where are you torn? Cynthia is talking about ...

Found A Christian By His Grace.: Letters from my Father's Murderer~
http://foundachristianbyhisgrace.blogspot.com/2015/07/letters-from-my-fathers-murderer.html
Monday, July 20, 2015. Letters from my Father's Murderer. My most succinct review and my highest praise would be one and the same for Laurie Coombs' book: "Letters from my Father's Murderer" is a picture of the Gospel in action. Laurie Coombs and her family found themselves living the life behind that horrible headline. Once the trial ended, and "justice" was done, their beloved Dad was gone, their questions were still unanswered. In the wake of such harm, Laurie dared to believe God for healing. And as ...
