wildlifeaylmerton: In Loving Memory....
http://wildlifeaylmerton.blogspot.com/2009/09/in-loving-memory.html
Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Thats it then, this web site is dead, it is deceased, it is no more! After 10 years of residence and nearly four years(! That my reports were reliable and gave a good account of real birding. I do leave with some great memories from this little parish, suffice to say that Aylmerton wasn't well known as a birding site prior to our arrival but, the next time there is a Honey Buzzard influx, I know where I'll be the following morning! Follow if you dare (or can be bothered).

wildlifeaylmerton: June 2009
http://wildlifeaylmerton.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 27, 2009. Along with Rob and Nigel, I took a trip out to Buxto Heath last night for a spot of mothing. Unfortunately the generator packed up at prior to the midnight hour so we had to come to a premature halt to the proceedings. We did manage a handful of species prior to this though which included some new ones for me. Another new sighting for me was my first ever Glow worm. Tuesday, June 02, 2009. Some raptors, at last! Go Wild In Kent: Darland Banks
http://gowildinkent.blogspot.com/2014/05/darland-banks.html
Friday, 23 May 2014. A very enjoyable day at Darland banks yesterday. The man orchids are out in 1,000's and plenty of variety to see amongst them. Adonis, common and small blue on the wing with some very close encounters with small blues as they seemed to like resting on my rucksack, which itself was blue! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Go Wild In Kent: Longfield Chalk Bank
http://gowildinkent.blogspot.com/2014/06/longfield-chalk-bank.html
Saturday, 28 June 2014. This small Kent Wildlife Trust reserve close to my front door held a surprise this afternoon in the first marbled white butterflies that I have seen there. In all at least 4 were flying around in the pre thunderstorm gloom along with about 30 ringlets, 6 meadow browns, 4 large skippers and a couple of small skippers. Quite a few 6-spot burnets were also on the wing. Large skipper feeding on thistle. Male small skipper on scabious. Litter and broken tree branches :-(. Another LNR w...

Go Wild In Kent: January 2015
http://gowildinkent.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, 25 January 2015. Kent Harvest Mouse Survey. Yesterday I went on a harvest mouse survey course at Wildwood. The survey is an ambitious one trying to cover all 1,100 land based tetrads in Kent to survey for harvest mouse. A day spent with Steve Kirk and several other folks all learning from Steve and intent on understanding about harvest mouse ecology and then getting some experience looking for their nests in the outdoors near Wildwood. The group gather as the first nest is found.
