If you participate in Halloween and love it, you might not want to read on. When we tell people that we don't "do" Halloween, people tend to get defensive. And angry. And feel sorry for our children. And defensive. I'm writing this post to simply explain why my family doesn't participate. We carry no judgement towards other families who do - we love you guys! Kidding. Kind of.

I've said it a hundred times, but when Kinsey enters a room, she brightens it almost immediately. She is full of life and joy resonates from the inside out. I love watching these girls:). Here is a link to Kinsey's ballet video on YouTube - - - - - - CLICK HERE! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The love of my life.

Friday, August 28, 2009. Charts and Index Cards and Cork Board, Oh My! Throughout the summer, our bible class has been plowing through a series on parenting. One main part is to come up with a vision ( or, more so, discover God's vision) for our family. But catch a vision we did. That's a Jimmy term people. I know, it's just paper pinned onto a cork board, but I have big plans to prettify it later. The front of all of the cards has a picture - in case you are a visual learner like me. Do you have any goo...

Thursday, January 21, 2010. This happened a week ago, but I am still laughing about it - I hope it brightens your day somehow! Doctor: Well, Kinsey, is there anything that has been bothering you lately? Kinsey: No. But I do have eczema on my tummy and sometimes it's itchy. Doctor: Oh my, what is that? Kinsey: (glancing questioningly at the doctor, then me, then back at the doctor) You're the doctor! Links to this post. Monday, January 4, 2010. 9 Finishing 2 whole books without interruption.

The Newman Crew: May 2010
http://thenewmancrew.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 30, 2010. In my head, several years ago, I created somewhat of a Bucket List. Now, it is not one I ever wrote down, but there are goals there none the less. Some are small, like finishing scrap booking projects and summer cleaning. Some are bigger, like writing a children's book (I really love children's literature) and running a marathon. I got to check one off today:). All in all, I am thankful to have run my first marathon. Do I wish it could have gone like it did in my head? This week was...

The Newman Crew: A Super 4th Birthday!
http://thenewmancrew.blogspot.com/2010/10/super-4th-birthday.html
Saturday, October 23, 2010. A Super 4th Birthday! Guess who had his 4th birthday party today? True, his ACTUAL birthday is not until November 1st, but with a birthday right after Halloween, we usually have to plan the party either the weekend before or after. If you give kids the choice of going to a birthday party or dressing up and going to get LOTS and LOTS of candy, usually the candy wins:). THIS party though might have given the candy a run for its money:). And what is a superhero without his cape?

Sunday, May 24, 2009. Today is the Day. Today is the day. After years of thinking about it, wishing for it, imagining it, and even setting goals for it, I have finally decided to do it. I have decided to run a marathon. 26.2 miles. I know for many who have already done this, it seems like a small feat. And for others, well, it just seems plain crazy. I finally did it. I ran 13.1 miles in 2 hours, 9 minutes, and 45 seconds. So why all the fuss? Why post it out here in blogland? I have heard many people sa...
