Newport Tsunami Dock Foundation. All directors of the Foundation are unpaid volunteers and we have no staff, so 100% of all donations go the project. Stan Pickens, Vice President and Treasurer. Stan is a long term resident of Newport, and is the owner of the Bayscapes Gallery and Coffee Shop on the Bayfront. He is President of the Newport Sea Lion Docks Foundation, and is involved in other educational and charitable organizations, including the Lincoln County Historical Society.

Original state of tsunami dock section. In June 2012, the 19 ft x 68 ft x 7 ft high dock from Misawa washed up on Agate Beach, after a 5,000 mile journey across the North Pacific. There were originally four of the these docks in Misawa, this one being shown in place below right. Dock corner in place as Tsunami Information Center.
