About the Newton Fire Department. On Wednesday, March 26, 2008. The Newton Fire Department (UT) was created as a fire squad in 1929 as a means to provide faster fire protection to the community. In that year a fire cart and hose were purchased by the Town to allow the fire squad to respond and attach to the newly installed fire hydrants. In 1940 Newton's status was officially changed to a volunteer department, and in the late 1960's Newton joined the newly formed Cache County Fire District.

Noticing the smell of smoke and burning plastic, the homeowner contacted dispatch for fire department assistance.
