Every Christmas season my uncle and I get together to see the sights that only one can see in New York City at Christmas time. My uncle is 78 years old now and I don’t know how many more Christmases we will be able to share together. I try to make the most of each one to have as many good memories as possible. The World Around Me. Thoughts about my favorite places. I’ve always felt that the first snow was the best snow. Of course it isn’t firm enough for solid snowballs and sculptured snowmen or frozen enough for the speed you need on your favorite hill. But the first snow reminds us that this season is different from the others. The first snow always seemed to be able to quiet the city, even a noisy, bustling one like New York.
