http://www.tonilund.fi/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 23, 2014. Into the Winter Paradise. Every October I start to wait it. Winter. Periodically I look for news how winter has started in Northern Hemisphere. I follow some long range weather forecasts and discussions on the Internet, and especially development of Arctic Oscillation. And North Atlantic Oscillation. Friday, 21th November:. We got about 8 cm of snow and paradise was everywhere! It was late, so I prepared my sleeping system and went to sleep. The morning was beautiful:. This was...

Saturday, March 14, 2015. ITI 2015 Race Report - Beyond Words - Part 3. The wind was getting stronger, and I was getting closer to the summit of Rainy Pass. I was in full-fight mode, as my body tried to shutdown itself because of sleep deprivation. Suddenly I heard voices behind me. It was Jay Cable and Pavel Richtr! Jay said that we were not far away from the summit. And just like that, my sleepiness went away. As we finally reached the summit, we took some photos of each other:. At this point it was cl...

Jo Mama VS. The World: October 2014
http://charlytri.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Jo Mama VS. The World. Monday, October 27, 2014. I did the Du! So I loath running. Really, I despise it. Why would I want to run when I have a perfectly good bike? I don't know, it just doesn't make sense. Well, due to a set of circumstances I found myself signing up for the Des Moines Off Road Dirty Duathlon with my buddy Mark from Kansas City. Wanting to have fun with it all we made our own "race jerseys". Overall, including the teams. Picture thanks to Eric Roccasecca. Equipped with Nextie carbon rims.

Sunday, July 6, 2014. Kimito Island Brovernighter™. It's been awhile since doing an overnighter. Peter. Sent a message that he was planning one, as his summer vacation started. A few days earlier I also found a very nice place in Kimito Island with beautiful shores, so the plan was ready. After rather cold June, the weather was also co-operating nicely. We started with roughly 30 km of road riding. There was a nice short forest road along the route too, and the last part was on gravel road. Event and Rac...

Monday, August 10, 2015. The Last Chance of the Summer. Time is really not on my side these days, so I really had to force it to happen. I wanted to go to Kimito Island's 'secret paradise shore' where me and Peter had a very nice overnighter last summer. My fairly late ending at work meant that I had to drive by car closer to the destination, with my bike and gear of course, so I could enjoy the sunset. On the move in Dragsfjärd:. Getting closer to the destination:. It's a beautiful shore:. It was a very...

Toni Lund - Adventure cyclist: New member of the family
http://www.tonilund.fi/2015/05/new-member-of-family.html
Wednesday, May 20, 2015. New member of the family. Recently I started a new work as a professional bike mechanic, so it was very convenient to start looking for a new cyclocross bike. It's a bike that I ride a lot on my commutes. But for a new bike I wanted full bikepacking capabilities, like rack and fender mounts, and an ability to use Porcelain Rocket MSA handlebar pack. A photo bomb of 30 shots here, sorry for some repeating but this bike looks so great! Fatbikes as these bikes are so different.

Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Race Report: Rovaniemi 150 2014. This is a very special moment in my life, and I start this race report by saying my racing philosophy: you have to win yourself first. I have done that many times in the past, and I did it this time too. But this time I ALMOST won my first race ever! I started preparing for Rovaniemi 150. In the summer, with Tahko MTB 180. A couple of photos:. Marco Nicoletti and Martijn Boonman:. This photo was taken by. René Fischer joined us. René I rode beh...

Toni Lund - Adventure cyclist: January 2015

Friday, January 2, 2015. The New Year 2015 has just started. It's time to look back at 2014. Instead of writing about every month, I chose a photo for every month that somehow was highlight for every month. Like for 2013, it's very easy to pick the best moment of the year: Rovaniemi 150. The race that I was so close to win. It was truly unforgettable experience and the feelings are imprinted deeply in my soul. Another fairly important achievement for me was Tahko MTB 240. Happy New Year 2015!
