Berlin 66 Lakes Trail. 417km, 17 stages, 1 trail around Berlin. Readers Questions: Favorite Trails, Can More Than One Be Done In A Day, and More! June 30, 2015. I got some feedback this week, more proof there are other people walking the 66 Lakes Trail, which is awesome. One reader wrote and asked questions which make a lot of sense; are there towns on either end of the trails, which are the best, and can you hike more than one trail in a day? Yay for feedback and common sense! If you do let me know!

Yesterday we finished up stage 4 which was so far the most challenging of the trails. It was just a little longer than the 2nd and 3rd, but for those and other reasons, it felt like it went on forever. The trail starts out in Hennigsdorf, the train station was very easy to get to with the S25. From there we set off. As we stopped...

Though being that it’s March, and I don’t see any returns to Germany before June, it’s likely those last 7 trails will have to be rushed in 2-3 weekends if thats even possible. Anyways, it’s not about when they are completed, but that they will all be seen. So on with the show. To be seen in next hollywood WWII flick. I had great b...

Estimated hiking time: 7.5 hours. Day One: Trail 5, Wensickendorf – Melchow. I’m not sure it was the sheer distance that was the problem so much as doing one day right after the other.
