Posts Tagged ‘zine’. Exploring indie arts in Manchester. On May 28, 2015. I’ve recently relocated from London to Manchester. First stop for me, in any new city, is to check out the cultural life. Think of Manchester and you’ll think of some great museums (IWM North, Museum of Science and Industry, People’s History Museum, Whitworth etc) as well as the Royal Exchange Theatre and the Halle at the Bridgewater Hall. Around the corner Manchester Craft and Design Centre. Whatever the political wranglings over ...

Sabbaticalizers: What a trip!
http://sabbaticalizers.blogspot.com/2009/07/what-trip.html
Friday, July 10, 2009. I haven't blogged for a couple of days because we're staying at an apartment without Wi-fi. So I've got some catching up to do. Scott and Paula Dunn were our contacts. They are from the Free Methodist Church in the US and have been working with a church in Arad for 3 years. Scott picked us up at the train station and took us to a really nice apartment that has been used by a number of different mission-related people. It's great to have our own place! Salford Zine Library: Submissions
http://salfordzinelibrary.blogspot.com/p/donations.html
Salford Zine Library is looking for more zine submissions! We currently have around 1400 self published zines about all kinds of things, but there's always room for more. There is no selection policy so we will accept absolutely anything as long as it's self published. Our collection isn't limited to the UK either - we'll gratefully accept zines from anywhere. It helps to widen access to self published materials. The library is open to the public at Nexus Art Cafe. Just pop it in the post, using the addr...

I love food, music, roller derby and films. My blog will have all these. September 1, 2014. This cafe is just on the outskirts of town off oxford rd (Through Hulme park) and is incredible! They also will be taking evening reservations/group bookings from 10/09/14. The basement of this shop is a café, I prefer the menu here as it is not fake meat heavy. You can also get sandwiches, salads and coffee’s etc to take away. Located in the heart of manchester’s Northern Quarter. Just off piccadilly gardens or t...

Hidden Gems: Nexus Art Cafe. Few and far between as they are, we British folk truly cherish our sacred summer days. With determined glee we plan for the brighter months, suggesting seaside jaunts and chortling good-naturedly when the inevitable downpour drenches our chips. And, despite how much we relish the chance to grumble about yet another gloomy outlook, it is our disobedient, changeable weather that makes us pine for sunny spells. But what might you find below? But let’s not get ahead of ourselves;...
