Monday, June 20, 2011. In honor of Father's Day. I stood at the kitchen window for a bit tonight just staring out at the backyard. Denise always cut the grass with a motorless lawn mower - the really old school push mower - which now sits along one side of the house seldom used. After the sprinklers broke the grass doesn't grow as well and, consequently, needs little mowing. This mower occupies much of my thoughts as it sends me back through time. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Wednesday, April 11, 2012. I didn't because I'm not. Off my rocker. But I went to bed that night with the biggest grin on my face. Several days later, disappointment has once again become my companion. I haven't heard a word from this person. Years ago, I drove over the Rockies into California from Nevada at dawn and was amazed by the mist and sunlight. Still have a hard time describing it. It was glittery and bright, then shady and moist in no particular order. The mist held close to the ground, but when it rose, it left moisture on the window that defied the windshield wipers.
