Threads: Website for Bianca Jane
http://threadsandfashion.blogspot.com/2011/09/website-for-bianca-jane.html
Thursday, September 8, 2011. Website for Bianca Jane. I have officially set up my website for my designs. It was an incredible process, and it was fun. I used the Wix site, as it is very user friendly for beginners. This website is a good stepping stone from college to the working world, and I am very glad that FEDISA gave me an opportunity in my curriculum to do this. My website is " bianca jane designs. Threads: Food, Glorious Food
http://threadsandfashion.blogspot.com/2011/08/food-glorious-food.html
Thursday, August 11, 2011. Food, Glorious Food. We were tasked with creating different dishes for the Fedisa. Recipe book. A recipe book for a fashion design institution, you might ask? Well, of course there was a twist. The models had to be dressed in clothing made of food. I chose a Spanish theme, starting with ham croquetas, vegetable paella and of course torrijas, a bread and honey dessert. My model, Nicole was very keen to pose, and after an hour of laughing until we cried, I got my images.

Threads: The Scottish Twist
http://threadsandfashion.blogspot.com/2011/08/scottish-twist.html
Wednesday, August 31, 2011. It is our final art week at FEDISA. Wow, three years of inspiration, hard work, highs, lows and a total lack of sleep. But it will all be worth it when I get my degree! Our final drapery was very fun, and I actually enjoyed it. We had to use 10cm x 10cm strips of fabric, and I had just the right samples lying at home. This is my take on Scottish flavour. Until we meet again. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Blast from the Past. And the next one begins. Food, Glorious Food.

Thursday, May 26, 2011. Head Pieces and Hats. It came down to the time when I realised that it was time to begin my designs for my head pieces! The theme is "A Right Royal Affair", and this is for this years prestigious Durban July. I chose to go with royal blue, imperial purple and of course, gold. With influences from all different types of royal fascinations such as signet rings, crests and royal carriages, I water coloured away and had fun. Until we meet again. Sunday, May 22, 2011. It is now time to...

Monday, April 25, 2011. So it is my birthday today. A whole twenty two. Wow. I have been spoilt rotten today and I have only seen half of the family ;) Yesterday was Easter, so I decided to have a lunch that celebrated Easter and my birthday at the same time. I had a delectable meal, and could barely walk afterwards, I was so full. Here are some pictures of the shoes :). Blue shoes with fabric studded flowers. Purple button and topstitching detail. Until we meet again. Saturday, April 16, 2011. The inter...

Thursday, September 15, 2011. The business side of fashion. So, fashion is not all about the glitz and glamour. There is in fact a lot of hard work involved, and there is definitely a business side to it! So many people think that fashion is a freely creative venture. It is not. I had to do a business plan for an outfit from my range. I actually made a profit in this "business", so that was a good sign! Pattern maker and seamstress. Capital of R50 000. Until we meet again. Monday, January 31, 2011. The third and final year of studying is now upon me, with many expectations and hurdles ahead. We were asked to start a blog. A blog? Well, after much debate with myself, I decided to face the challenge and finally, I have a blog! However, I am the worst person when it comes to making decisions, so designing a blog was an absolute nightmare. What colour do I use, what font do I use, and many more "whats"! So welcome to my blog, Threads. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Threads: July 2011
http://threadsandfashion.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 26, 2011. The module has begun, and I can honestly say that I forgot the intensity of being at FEDISA. That was until day one. It was visual week, and after being told that our croquis books (Design and idea books) were no longer allowed to be called that (They are now visual diaries), we began our new assignments. I chose the the theme, "Soho Chic", as it is the typical upper London party area. Below are some extracts from my trend book, and a picture of my mood board and styling board:.
