Frightening Journeys: October 2010
http://paranormalwriters.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 30, 2010. I wrote this quick bit of flash fiction last year after finding this gorgeous piece at Deviant Art. Happy Halloween by Yaichino. Have a happy Halloween and a blessed Samhain! Posted by Sonya Clark. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. The first and most important lesson an author can learn is:. Your mom, cousin or the nice lady down the road will not give you an objective view of your novel unless they happen to be authors themselves. And, let’s be brutally honest here, folks,...The bes...

Frightening Journeys: Making room for the art
http://paranormalwriters.blogspot.com/2011/07/making-room-for-art.html
Monday, July 18, 2011. Making room for the art. I'm sure just about everyone has heard about "art imitating life." For an author, that phrase is even more true. Even in the sci-fi or paranormal genres, an author does write what's familiar. At least a little bit. I have trouble, however, making time for the art. Lately life seems to get in the way. Or, to use another phrase: "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.". I'm looking forward to your suggestions! Labels: Nichole R. Bennett.

Monday, May 30, 2011. To all the US, have a happy and safe Memorial Day. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Call for Submissions: Meet me at Dusk. Did you grow up reading Poe, Burroughs and Lovecraft? Do Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. Graphic novels languish on your bookshelves next to Poppy Z Brite's Lost Souls. See the submission gui...

Frightening Journeys: April 2011
http://paranormalwriters.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 19, 2011. What matters now, more than ever before in publishing, is a buddy system. I remember the encouragement I received from the likes of Dave Wolverton, Fiona McIntosh and John Everson, who always replied to my emails with sound advice. Yes, I may still be in awe of these people, but they never lost that essential human touch. They weren’t up on a pedestal. And if I develop an attitude, I expect my buddies to slap me upside the head. Labels: paying it forward. Monday, April 18, 2011.

Frightening Journeys: February 2011
http://paranormalwriters.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 28, 2011. Did you know that food can be magical? I don't mean just that it helps your body. I don't mean the process of converting food to energy, either. Food can hold magical properties. Consider the whole idea of "comfort food." There are just some foods that make you feel better, aren't there? For me, it's chocolate. Thankfully, I have a husband who knows and appreciates that fact. I wanted to share a recipe for some magical food that I mention in my book Ghost Mountain. Hey, so I...

Frightening Journeys: March 2011
http://paranormalwriters.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 29, 2011. A dash of BlackMilk. What I love about being in touch with some of the avant garde happenings in Cape Town is that occasionally I get to play fly on the wall when stuff is created. As you can well imagine, this creates much fodder for my future writings. What I’d like to share with you today is a short film the BlackMilk productions crew created over this past weekend. They then started talking about doing a short film since they’re currently finding creative ways in which ...

Frightening Journeys: November 2010
http://paranormalwriters.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 30, 2010. And sometimes there are just days. It's not often that I end up on my blog day with nothing to say, but today is one of them. Call it end-of-year fatigue or what-not, that's probably the closest thing I have in my vocab to express how I feel right now. The reasons for these trips include reviewing accommodation, attending a friend's funeral and being present at film screenings. To say I'm tuckered out is a plain understatement. How do I cope? Series, not expecting to hear from...

Friday, March 7, 2008. I'm not sure on how to do this via the internet. No, so my dad had to bait it for me every time I would catch a fish. By the end of the day we counted up all the fish we each got I ended up with 22 and dad only caught 2. To this day I still tease him about me being a better fisher than him because I caught so many more. When, in reality, he spent all day baiting my hook. It used to be. To this day, I regret ever thinking that about. My parents, and I would do anything to go back an...

Road to Redemption Series: Kevonna Hayes. September 15, 2016. This week’s story is being shared by my sister in Christ Kevonna. She was eager to tell of her road to redemption and approached me to be a part of this project. I love that she was ready, bold, and willing to do as the word says and overcome the enemy with the words of her testimony. I pray that what she has been open to share blesses you in a mighty way. 1) What does being redeemed mean to you? Monkey see monkey do right? I was constantly fi...
