Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Smashing fun with filters. One of our customers recently had a bit of a mishap with a protective filter. She dropped it when she took it off to clean it:. Obviously you wouldn't want to put that back on the front of the lens. But it led us to wonder what would happen if you did. So we tried it. In case you're interested, the lens was a Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM (we're glad she didn't drop that! And this is with the broken filter in place:. And then with the broken filter:.
