nic nacks: My Grandpa the Acrobat
http://nickischmidt.blogspot.com/2014/06/my-grandpa-acrobat.html
My Grandpa the Acrobat. Posted by Nicki Clark. On 02 June 2014. When I came across these pictures taken by Hans Wild for LIFE Magazine at a school for acrobats, Gymnase Saulnier, in Paris in 1947, I was transported right back to my days of instruction at my grandpa's hip. Their rudimentary setting. Their "athletic" clothes. Everything is just so wonderful. I mean, just look at the instructor's beret. Are those not SO great? Man Charm galore. And now, a few more of my grandpa for good measure.
nic nacks: Baby Update: 25 weeks
http://nickischmidt.blogspot.com/2014/07/baby-update-25-weeks.html
Baby Update: 25 weeks. Posted by Nicki Clark. On 03 July 2014. I just hit the 25 week mark! Just practicing karate in here! And just for funsies I put together this update, baby edition, to sum up the random quirkiness pregnancy has brought me lately:. Eating / so much. Hunger knows no bounds now a days. Drinking / lemonade. So. Much. Lemonade. It's like the nectar of the gods, I tell you. Practicing / going to bed early. As soon as 9:30 pm hits, I am out. It's THE BEST. Remembering / how good it used to...

http://nickischmidt.blogspot.com/2014/06/and-its.html
And it's a . Posted by Nicki Clark. On 04 June 2014. Last Friday morning Ty and I headed into the doctor's office for my 20-week ultrasound. We are 100% in the "finding out the gender camp" (hello, first time parents here! So I had been looking forward to this appointment for quite a while. As we walked into the main building and were about to get into the elevator, Ty turned to me and asked what I thought the gender was. "Boy." I said. "What about you? And team boy came through for a solid win!

Seattle Smitty: Westward Ho!
http://seattlesmitty.blogspot.com/2011/08/westward-ho.html
Wednesday, August 3, 2011. I had never even considered riding the bike to West Seattle because it seemed to far to even think about pedaling with the kids, but someone else planned it and invited team Smitty to come along, so we went. We rode from Smitty HQ in Shoreline to Alki Beach in West Seattle. We even rode most of the way back. Once we were into friendlier territory Little Girl Smitty was elated to be back on her own bike. The destination/reason for our trip to West Seattle was to see the Navy shi...

https://introspectiondance.wordpress.com/2013/07/20/detox-for-a-raw-year
Raw Fancy Berry Sorbet. Home Made Almond Butter! Detox for a Raw Year. July 20, 2013. A raw food diet covers all of that! I have already been on this journey since early this spring but I’ll go off it for mostly social reasons or cravings. The same thing happened again the day of my birthday and a couple days after when we went out for dessert to celebrate and my dear friends brought me a cake to house church. How would they know? Adapted from Young and Raw. 1 Cup Cilantro and Parsley or Kale. You are co...

rambling through life: January 2009
http://ramblingthroughlife.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 19, 2009. Ugh Blue Monday is right. Thankfully, you can get above and see something more like this. Sunday, January 04, 2009. Why 1988 was so great:. It was the year of the Calgary Olympics - Heidi and Howdy came and visited my first grade class, they taught us all about the biathlon, bobsled, and luge. The Russian figure skaters stayed in my hometown, Okotoks, and I fell in love with Ekaterenia Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov. Melanie Gilbert "pantsed" this kid, Wesley - who wouldn't get off...
Seattle Smitty: Not Quite Double Nickels
http://seattlesmitty.blogspot.com/2011/08/not-quite-double-nickels.html
Monday, August 15, 2011. Not Quite Double Nickels. There were 3 route options for the 2011 Bridge Pedal in Portland, OR this past weekend. We chose the shortest route. 6 bridges in 13 miles. Mrs Smitty and I rousted ourselves and the kids out of bed and got ourselves and our bikes onto the MAX light-rail into downtown from our hotel in the suburbs. We got there in plenty of time to sign-in and make our 9am start time. Once we were on our way people naturally spread out and the route opened up. The final ...
Seattle Smitty: June 2011
http://seattlesmitty.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 27, 2011. Last year's bike camping trip up the closed-to-motor-vehicles Suiattle River Road was such a spectacular time that we did it again this year. We invited a few new friends to come along but in the end only one new family was able to come and even they had to leave one of theirs at home. We were 5 adults and 6 children strong. Everyone had some sort of bike to ride. When more than half your crew is under age 5 there are many reasons and opportunities to stop and take a break. We plan...
La Bohème + one: February 2012
http://erinvthornhill.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 1, 2012. But not as strange as the interaction I had with her EVEN MORE odd husband this afternoon. I rarely see him. He is a short, stubby, 60-something guy that is usually holed up smoking various things in his apartment. In fact, the only times I'd seen him before was smoking on his balcony staring at people and walking his dog at 3:00am. Today, he asked how the pregnancy was going. He also offered to deliver the baby. Yes. Deliver the baby. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Seattle Smitty: August 2009
http://seattlesmitty.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 3, 2009. A Boundy of Places Named Deception. We made a last minute change to our original plan to go on a family-backpacking trip with some friends to a lake near Stevens Pass. The forecast called for possible thunder storms at the cascade crest. Even though it was just 30% chance we thought it best to seek another destination to increase odds of kids having a good time. We ended up at Deception Creek. about 10-miles SW of Stevens Pass. After breakfast (it was nice to toast our bagels rath...

Up All Night Long: September 2007
http://adamtillustration.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 8, 2007. Brian and Brouge Nuveau. I took some engagement photos for some friends of mine a while back and one of them inspired a 15th century romance painting. They're both theatrical inthusiests; this'll be their wedding present. It also takes the place of a rather abstract romeo and juliet painting I did a few years ago but didn't have the good sense to keep. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I Know These People. Chronicles of Nicki - Against All Odds. Tuesday, August 19, 2008. This is a must! I have learned so much about why I eat what I do and under what circumstances. I always thought I didn't need a reason to eat badly, but I know that most of the time my poor eating habits are out of sadness, stress or some other emotional experience. Lastly enjoy yourself and remember tomorrow is a new day for choosing healthy foods. See you next time. Nicki. Posted by Physicians Choice For Weight Loss. Staff I am still a w...
Introverted Writer
March 27th Weekly Website. March 22, 2014. So, being a college student, you are familiar with Microsoft Office and all of the programs that go with it, but I had never been to the website itself before. So here are a few things that I learned while exploring the website of Office. As soon as you go to it, the site wants to find the right Office fit for you, and asks you whether it’s for home of for business. I clicked on the “Home”. I found this very helpful, I didn’t realize all of the things that...
