I was surprised to discover that in Madrid between Christmas and New Year people wear wigs and dress up! We got wigs for ourselves as well - unfortunately, mine didn't quite fit. The symbol of Madrid - a bear eating from a Strawberry Tree (no, I'm not making that tree up, that's really what it is! Even my friend from Madrid didn't believe at first! Point zero of Spain.
