http://nicolawritesgodchat.blogspot.com/2014/09/habakkuk-complaining-prophet.html
Friday, 12 September 2014. Habakkuk - the Complaining Prophet! This mini sermon is based on the following readings:. Habakkuk by F.O.Salisbury from bbc.co.uk. And Habakkuk doesn't just speak to God, he challenges God. Habakkuk is somewhat unique among the prophets for directly questioning God's wisdom. Habakkuk, in the first chapter of the book, complains 'how long will I cry to you and you will not hear? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Habakkuk - the Complaining Prophet!

God Chat: September 2013

Monday, 23 September 2013. Present Moment, Perfect Moment. I've just started reading a book by Thich Nhat Hanh called. Peace in Every Step. In Christian teaching Jesus stresses that the only thing we can really change is ourselves. Why go round trying to change others when you haven't even dealt with youself? Today, after reading. Peace in Every Step. All we really have is now. The past is gone, the future isn't here yet. So I spent half an hour just breathing and being where I am - in my house, ...I lov...

God Chat: Seeking God - Love
http://nicolawritesgodchat.blogspot.com/2013/11/seeking-god-love.html
Friday, 8 November 2013. Seeking God - Love. A simple online search of the Bible brought up 731 instances of the word 'love'. Here a few drawn from the New Testament letters:. Let all that you do be done in love'. For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself'. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony'. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love'. Labels: Seeking God Series.

God Chat: July 2013

Monday, 15 July 2013. My Gap Year with Tearfund, taken after University, was a hugely life changing experience. I was a new Christian then and I felt like I was learning about myself like I was brand new. I was also laying the foundations in my faith. What would be central to me in this new understanding of the world? Sure, I had connected on a personal level to God but I was still working out what exactly God was like (now isn't that a life time project! Tearfund Journeys blog if you'd like to read more.

God Chat: March 2013
http://nicolawritesgodchat.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 31 March 2013. I remember when I first started going to church in my early twenties and I decided to visit the church where I had been baptised as a baby on what happened to be Easter Sunday. I entered the church and all the lights were turned off. After navigating the whole 'this is my pew' minefield I sat down somewhere unoccupied and waited for the service to begin. To which everyone replied 'He is risen indeed! Day 40 - The final of the Lent Photo Diary. Light breaks in. There had been plenty...

This little piece of typography was commissioned for a 1st wedding anniversary. When Flora and Ronan got married in Connemara last year, I designed their wedding invitations and on coming round to their paper anniversary, Flora thought a lovely gift to Ronan would be the printed chorus of a special song: Eva Cassidy's Songbird. Fraser & Parsley. December 6, 2011. This is really lovely Hannah, well done! What do you think? Last chance to book your place on my BEGINNER PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS tomorrow!

I wonder how they can fail to see humour in the baboon or majesty through the elephant? How a great storm cannot help but stop and make them think about the tiny place we occupy in this great big world under a great big God. God Chat: The Last Supper
http://nicolawritesgodchat.blogspot.com/2014/07/the-last-supper.html
Sunday, 13 July 2014. Two thousand years ago a man sat down with his friends and ate a meal. It could be argued that no meal has echoed down the centuries quite like this one. That meal is the Last Supper and this moment is remembered by churches around the world by eating bread and wine in memory of the man who first did it, Jesus. Verses 12 to 26. Theories about the Last Supper, and how we should practice our remembrance of it in the church today, are widespread and numerous. The meal starts off well&#...

God Chat: Connections
http://nicolawritesgodchat.blogspot.com/2013/12/connections.html
Tuesday, 3 December 2013. We human beings love to categorize. It is part of how we make sense of the world and our place within it. But in recent weeks, and in as I dwell on the Christmas story this Advent, I have been thinking more and more about connections not categories. On Guardian Science today research was presented on the 'wiring' of male and female brains. The article presented sex differences as if they were a fait accompli. Labels: Nature of God.
