AJF-PhotoBlog: November 2009
http://ajf-photoblog.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 23, 2009. Couple of random shots. Here are two photos from the last couple of weeks. I have a new batch from around the West End to put up soon, but I haven't got around to it yet. While Nicole and I were waiting for the train to arrive in Seattle so that we could complete our journey home from SLC. I was amusing myself taking some moody black and white pictures of the interior of the station, when Nicole walked right in front of me; somewhat fortuitously, as it turned out! However, in t...

Monday, September 28, 2009. Vive le Québec (libre)! Giant chess is a popular pastime in Place Émilie-Gamelin. The Bixi bike sharing operation is both stylish and functional. This guy was very focused on his camera. Québec City streetscape with gloomy sky. One of the many statues around Québec City. An ode to blue. For the history of the slogan). Posted by Adam F. Saturday, September 26, 2009. A Night in Toronto. Probably the most interesting view for me from the top of the CN Tower was looking down on th...

Saturday, May 22, 2010. BC Trip part #2. So, it's taken a while, but here is the second part of the BC trip, ranging from Smithers, up to Stewart on the border with Alaska and west to Prince Rupert. Nicole takes flight while snowshoeing on Hudson's Bay Mountain. A totem pole looks out over the river. I love the perspective in this shot of the pier in Hyder, AK, how the lines of the structure align with the mountains lining the fjord. Posted by Adam F. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Thursday, June 25, 2009. So after an evening spent admiring the magnificent work of Andreas Gursky. At the Vancouver Art Gallery. My favourite was Engadin II, an incredible shot of a cross-country ski race), I headed out onto the darkening streets of Vancouver. BC Lions fans heading home. The older district of Beatty St, quite a contrast to Yaletown. I kind of had an aim to find a shot to add to the Film Noir Mood Flickr group. Posted by Adam F. Sunday, June 21, 2009. Friday, January 08, 2010. A winter's day at the Getty Center. What better way could there be to spend part of an 11 hour layover at LAX than to head out to the Getty Center via two buses? This was a welcome change from grey and rainy Vancouver, on the way to even sunnier days in Australia. And an excellent opportunity to use my newly acquired circular polarising filter. Looking over the garden. Looking up from the garden. The white of the waxing gibbous moon and the building against the ultramarine sky.

Saturday, August 08, 2009. Last weekend featured both the Powell Street Festival (celebrating Japanese-Canadian culture) and the Vancouver Pride Festival. Both events afforded some good people watching opportunities. Some interesting East-meets-West clothing combinations, such as the Fan Man. This little girl was adorable, very interested in everything around her, including a snappy dog. Her Grandma had to continually hold her back, although she is releasing her in this picture.
