Weekly Challenge #4: Better Composition | nicoledouglasphotography
https://nicoledouglasphotography.wordpress.com/2012/04/10/weekly-challenge-4-better-composition
Just another WordPress.com site. Weekly Challenge #4: Better Composition. April 10, 2012. Replaying the lecture information through my head, 80/20 kept creeping back into my thoughts and was taking on a new meaning. Slowly it started to dawn on me that the information was only about 20% of what I needed, the other 80% was practice. Since I decided to isolate the ideas and elements, it seemed only fitting to start with ISOLATION. Isolating on a black background. Color that popped out from it's surroundings.
Weekly Challenge #2: “Giving Up the Bird” | nicoledouglasphotography
https://nicoledouglasphotography.wordpress.com/2012/03/02/weekly-challenge-2-giving-up-the-bird
Just another WordPress.com site. Weekly Challenge #2: “Giving Up the Bird”. March 2, 2012. The challenge, as I understood it, was to try to take a picture of a bird, without actually taking a picture of a bird. This proved to be a lot more challenging than I expected. I kept taking pictures of birds. Trying to switch things up, I got caught into the trap of just shooting parts of the bird. With my new collection of crisp, close-up shots of legs and breasts, I had enough material to do a spread in. The fe...

Achieving eye-popping images in-camera … (using a polarizer does make a difference). | Weekly Photography Challenge
https://weeklyphotographychallenge.wordpress.com/2012/03/06/achieving-eye-popping-images-in-camera-and-why-i-dont-like-photographers
Inspiration for the rest of us. The Art of Manual Photography. Painting With a Lens. The Art of Flash Photography. Macro and Close-Up Photography. Achieving eye-popping images in-camera … (using a polarizer does make a difference). How can you ever hope to be better, to acquire real skill, to be able to visualize something fantastic unless you make that your goal! Oh, and I realize the rest of the world believes something else: that you HAVE to shoot in RAW, that you HAVE to fix every picture, that it...

https://weeklyphotographychallenge.wordpress.com/2012/02/21/breaking-constancy-101-of-freeing-your-vision-and-being-an-artist
Inspiration for the rest of us. The Art of Manual Photography. Painting With a Lens. The Art of Flash Photography. Macro and Close-Up Photography. Breaking Constancy 101 (Of Freeing your Vision and Being an Artist). The Great ‘Giving-Up-The-Bird Exercise’! Sometimes we adore them, often though (whether we wish to admit it or not) we admonish. How dare they step out of the box, stray from the course? Who are they to challenge reality, to do something different? This is … what it is. GIVING UP THE BIRD.

The Black Background (making mood happen) | Weekly Photography Challenge
https://weeklyphotographychallenge.wordpress.com/2012/02/12/the-black-background-making-mood-happen
Inspiration for the rest of us. The Art of Manual Photography. Painting With a Lens. The Art of Flash Photography. Macro and Close-Up Photography. The Black Background (making mood happen). The black background exercise is a fundamental right of passage for an in focus artist. It is (for most) the first time they truly see what their camera is capable of when they take full control. It will change your life. Here are the pieces you’ll need:. Any camera will do. Any aperture setting will do. The key to su...

Better Composition: Of using graphic elements, instead of just shooting them. | Weekly Photography Challenge
https://weeklyphotographychallenge.wordpress.com/2012/03/23/better-composition-of-using-graphic-elements-instead-of-just-shooting-them
Inspiration for the rest of us. The Art of Manual Photography. Painting With a Lens. The Art of Flash Photography. Macro and Close-Up Photography. Better Composition: Of using graphic elements, instead of just shooting them. Composition is all about vision. The truth is pretty simple … you can’t shoot, what you can’t see. Simply make wise choices. Isn’t that why we raise our camera to begin with? Lets’ see autofocus find that. April 4, 2012. This week’s attempts … always an ongoing event. Set=a2878988066...

Just In Case You Were Wondering
Just In Case You Were Wondering. Friday, March 22, 2013. Yesterday I had no class, no assignments due, nowhere to go, but plenty of things to do. And I got nothing done! I was such a lazy loser! But it was actually a really good day. I laid in the sunshine, I exercised (I know right? And I laughed a lot. And that's kind of productive. right? PS: Here are some of things that I've laughed at recently. LaChelle and I have been joking all semester, pretending to be holding a knife and whispering, "soon.".
