Friday, April 18, 2014. Here is some photos from a very cool mish Pete convinced me to go on yesterday. After a bit of confusion and some conflicting beta we decided to just put on the river and see what was down there. Turns out Phil Mac hadn't paddled this river before and it could definitely become a new classic. Starts out like this. Then changes into this. Pete firing up 'deadweight' falls. Dan testing out the hole. Some synchronised water falling. Pete finding his way down 'Pete's Crack'.

Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Just some photos of my cool as little duckling Killa. I found him at the bottom of the Abyss probably after being swept away from his mum. He was a New Zealand Scaup (Papango or Aythya novaeseelandiae. Which is a small diving duck endemic to NZ. Not afraid of anything. Thursday, March 15, 2012. Friday, June 22, 2012. Last week in the USA. Our last week in the United States of America we had run out of water to paddle on so we decided to try out a few other activities. We went skydiving and it was SICK! We spent a day wrecking havoc at a water park. We visited some granite waterfalls that you can slide down. We went to Reno River Festival. We broke some laws in Yosemite national park and we destroyed a large amount of paddling gear. Heres some photos. Jordie and Christy checking out the view.

Tuesday, July 2, 2013. New Zealand to Norway. The last 6 months have been pretty busy for me with a lot of work, a lot of play, quite a bit of global drift, and heaps of good times. Saturday, September 1, 2012. After breaking my boat on the Myklebust we borrowed a mini gas powered heat gun from Jakub's Slovak friends and Benji did a neat job fixing the front of my kayak. We headed to the Myklebust again just to show Jakub's Slovak friends where the put in was and ended up doing two laps down the super fun race section. Great start to the day! Saturday, July 28, 2012. After the Sjoa Festival Benji was supposed to be heading down to Southern Norway but luckily his car had to go to the mechanics therefore grounding him in Sjoa for an extra three days. Thursday, December 20, 2012. Last Saturday we had the first ever Okere Enduro race. The race was Ben Robson's invention and the concept was a 6 hour endurance race with a team format. Each team had 3 people 1 of which had to be a girl, this was a cool idea as it massively boosted involvement with 50 people competing, 15 teams and 5 solo competitors. The race began with a mass start at the top of the river, this resulted in 5 swims in the first lap! The winning team, 24 laps. Kaituna 6 Hour Enduro Race.

Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Our first challenge before we could start our trip was to get out excessive amount of luggage under the 60kgs (30kgs each) allowed by our airline. Each of our bikes weighed in at around 19kgs so we had 12kgs left for luggage. No easy task when you're heading to Norway for 5 months and you need whitewater gear for cold conditions including PFD, helmet, throw bag, spraydeck, paddle, drysuit and thermals! Not too much stuff. Elevators helped us a lot. Getting into the orange of things.
