Vacation 2008 - West Coast. 2008 is the year that Zoe and I decided to visit some family in Portland, OR. A drive down the coast and a stay in San Francisco completed the trip. Our ride has arrived (Portage, Wisconsin). We took an Amtrak sleeper for the trip out (something I always wanted to do). The train is called the Empire Builder. Here, Zoe gets settled into our room. The train makes quite a few stops, but most are just quick enough to jump on or off. Window made for a great trip.

Vacationing Out West - 2003. A quick recap from Grant & Zoe). Great to be on the road-. First stop - Badlands. On to Mount Rushmore-. At 7 AM on a Sunday morning, we had the place to ourselves. Next Stop - Crazy Horse. All of Mt. Rushmore would fit in the head of Crazy Horse. Time to cool off in Wind Cave-. A stop at Devil's Tower and some hiking. Zoe studying for her Junior Ranger test. She passed and got her badge. We entered the park from the Northeast Entrance. Mammoth Hot Springs was our first stop.
