March 1, 1871. A deceptive perforated forgery, typographed on medium yellowing paper. There is a white circle before the ‘C’ of ‘CORREOS’, and there is a break in the curved lines before the ‘C’. The first ‘O’ in ‘CORREOS’ is elliptical. There is a break in the hairline to the right of the eyebrow. A further break in the line of the inverted horn-like design at the bottom left. Oval Municipal Crown Cancellation. Between the mid 1860s and the mid 1880s, an oval ‘Municipal Crown’ cancel. Was used in small towns throughout the. The oval cancel consists of the words ‘PROV. DE [Name of Province]’ in a semi-circle across the top; a crown in the center.
