To avoid rewriting all this, I’ve copy/pasted this from my Facebook status at the time:. Almost robbed; approached by two guys with one telling me, in Spanish, that the other had a gun and not to make a noise. Having heard from others having exactly the same experience that this was shortly followed up by “now give us 300000 pesos, we’ll walk with you to your hostel if we have to”, I feigned incomprehension (to which he replied, “liar” in Spanish - awkward) and walked away.
