http://tometraveling.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
A blog about books: reviews, author signings and conversations, book store reviews, and so forth. Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Book review: Horns by Joe Hill. I first heard of Horns. When I saw a publicity photo for the upcoming movie starring Daniel Radcliffe. The photo and the premise were both just intriguing enough that I went to my local library and picked it up. It will soon be added to my personal collection; I absolutely will be going back and reading and re-reading this one again. My favorite boo...

Back from Montreal. No energy to try and write a con report right now. but it was a hell of a Worldcon. Paul Krugman's two talks were definitely high points, as were several panels, and a great deal of meeting some very interesting people. But something better than a con report is a book report! Paolo Bacigalupi has a novel out (released just this Friday, Amazon doesn't seem to realize it yet) called The Windup Girl. The publisher, Nightshade Books. Or post-apocalypses either with. Post a new comment.

Roland's Codex: The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
http://rolandscodex.blogspot.com/2012/03/hunger-games-suzanne-collins.html
SF and Fantasy Reviews. Mar 26, 2012. The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins. I sort of let the Hunger Games. There are ways to say relevant things and still not lose the young audience, but it takes skill that Suzanne Collins either does not possess, or has not bothered to use. Not all is wrong here though. The Hunger Games. Could have achieved so much more if it were intended for slightly more mature audience, or if Collins hadn't underestimated the one she targeted. April 16, 2013 at 11:44 PM. Lee Clark Zumpe Muted Mutterings of a Mad Poet. Home of speculative fiction writer Lee Clark Zumpe. Thursday, July 26, 2012. Hey: Long time, no blog post. It has been about two years since new content appeared here at Muted Mutterings of a Mad Poet. The thing is, over the last couple of years I’ve hardly had time to write anything – fiction, poetry or witty, informative blog entries. These days, I do all that plugging on Facebook. So, recently, I started working on a website. Stay tuned …. Lee Clark Zump...

Roland's Codex: Movies: The Amazing Spider-Man
http://rolandscodex.blogspot.com/2012/07/this-particular-restart-of-comic-movie.html
SF and Fantasy Reviews. Jul 18, 2012. Movies: The Amazing Spider-Man. This particular restart of a comic movie franchise had me more than a little bit skeptical. On the one hand, all the names sound right - Andrew Garfield. Fame) and Emma Stone. Are both fairly awesome, and director Mark Webb's 500 Days of Summer. And it took me weeks to actually go see it after it came out. Honestly, I was torn between this and Magic Mike. The movie is surprisingly solid. It doesn't so much wow you as it aaaw. Emma Stone...

Roland's Codex: Cover art for Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan's A Memory of Light
http://rolandscodex.blogspot.com/2012/04/cover-art-for-brandon-sanderson-and.html
SF and Fantasy Reviews. Apr 25, 2012. Cover art for Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan's A Memory of Light. The cover for the final book in the Wheel of Time. Epic is finally revealed. And as much as I am not a fan of the paper WoT. Covers, I have to admit it's really appropriate for the final chapter of the series. Of course, it turned out to be a placeholder, with the actual cover yet to be released. I'm dumb and out of the loop apparently. April 25, 2012 at 10:36 AM. April 25, 2012 at 12:34 PM. Georg...

Rigor Mortis: Review: Nazis at the Center of the Earth (DVD)
http://livingdeadzine.blogspot.com/2012/10/review-nazis-at-center-of-earth-dvd.html
Saturday, October 27, 2012. Review: Nazis at the Center of the Earth (DVD). As a group, the Rigor Mortis. Staff can bicker and geek-slam like maniacal kittens fighting over a cricket in the house. Dread rolls his eyes until we fear seizure, Spinal Cord raises her razorblade-like eyebrow, and Colin clears his throat with enraged dignity. But a magical thing happened – we agreed on something, and that something is Nazis at the Center of the Earth. It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a horror movie...
