Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery. Tuesday, May 26, 2009. 15, I'd go. Tourists. Now that I think about it, he didn't really fight much when I gave him 30 rupees. Maybe I should have given 20. The holy grail of traveling in India is getting the price that locals get. Even with getting overcharged, things here are really cheap. I paid on average about $4-$5 per night for a hotel room. On April 22 I took a train to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. The train stations are incredibly crowded here. I hired ...

Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery: December 2008
http://jay-imm.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery. Saturday, December 27, 2008. On Sunday, December 14, I arrived in Lima, Peru. For a city of 8 million people, there doesn't seem to be a lot going on. A lot of people skip Lima altogether on their way to Peru's better sights. There is a about one day's worth of stuff to see in Lima. I had two full days. The central plaza is definitely worth a look. Slums on a hillside painted bright colors so they look pretty from a distance. Central Market in Cuzco. On Sunday, ...

Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery: January 2009
http://jay-imm.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery. Friday, January 30, 2009. On January 6, I took a bus from the Bolivian border to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. The bus ride was mostly all downhill and it seemed to be about 20 degrees warmer when I got there, which I was happy about. I got a room and a bus ticket out of town for the next day. I got into Santiago on January 8 and spent about four days there. On January 13, I took a six hour bus ride to Mendoza, Argentina. Mendoza is a wine growing region note...

Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery: November 2009
http://jay-imm.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery. Monday, November 9, 2009. Knez Mihailova is a pedestrian-only street in the old part of Belgrade. It is lined with fancy shops and restaurants. This is about as good as Belgrade gets. Belgrade fortress is pretty much the only tourist site in Belgrade. Bosnia is mountainous country, but lacks dramatic, Alp-like peaks. It reminded me a bit of West Virginia. Sarajevo is a long, narrow city nestled between two mountain ranges. It's so hard to imagine how such a long...

Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery: March 2009
http://jay-imm.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery. Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Singapore is a city state that became independent in the 50's. It is very clean and westernized (to an extent). English is one of the official languages. It is a good transition from West to East. Sentosa is a theme park and is the southern-most point of continental Asia. On March 18, I flew to Bangkok Thailand. I took the airport bus to Kho Sahn Road. Things are really cheap here, but there is this con...

Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery: October 2008
http://jay-imm.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery. Saturday, October 18, 2008. It Was Bound to Happen Sooner or Later. Things that I don't worry about:. Getting shot, kidnapped, or being drugged and having my kidney stolen. Statistically, these things are just not going to happen. And I don't think anyone has ever had a kidney stolen. I could be wrong, but if anything like that happened 10 years ago Greta Van Susterin would still be talking about it. The things that do worry me are more mundane:. 160;I have tw...

Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery. Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Happy Thanksgiving. I'm thankful that it was not worse and hope for the best for the recovery effort and for the people who had it a whole lot worse than I did. Http:/ www.laht.com/article.asp? Labels: Bocas del Toro. Monday, November 17, 2008. AnI have learned a few more interesting facts about Panama City while I've been here. Public transportation within the city consists of old, retired American school buses. http://jay-imm.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery. Tuesday, February 17, 2009. On January 26, I took an overnight. Bus from Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazu. Iguazu Falls is an incredible waterfall on the border of Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. There are parks on the Argentina side and the Brazil side. On January 28 I went to see the Argentina side of the falls. I’ve seen Niagara Falls before and really enjoyed them. It was October (off season) and I spent a lot of time looking at the falls and being reflective.

Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery: April 2009
http://jay-imm.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Jay Graham - International Man of Mystery. Thursday, April 30, 2009. I got on the bus at 8:00am. It arrived in Dong Ha after a few hours and I had to get on another bus that would take me to Lao Bao to cross the border into Laos. Crossing the Laos border was uneventful. Visas were available on site and I went right on through. There are no public restrooms in Laos, so every few hours, the bus stops and people get off to relieve themselves at the side of the road. Laos is probably the least developed plac...
