battgirl: August 2009
http://battgirlproject.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 30, 2009. Our son has a small dormer room. The colors were inspired by an alphabet poster - blue, orange, and gray. We found some funky vinyl wall art on Etsy and put it up today. It was pretty easy. Thankfully the design we chose was forgiving - not all cubes are straight, but the curved corners make this less noticeable. The owl and bees (caterpillar and bird are going on our cars :). Here are a few pics -. Monday, August 24, 2009. Molly's Sketchbook: Sunny Tied Quilt. To sew, lightly pi...

Sunday, October 28, 2012. On New Books by Cyrus Cassells, Eduardo C. Corral, and Daniel Nathan Terry. Here's no denying the subject matter is an important one: the role of young people in World War II and the Holocaust. For the most part, Cyrus Cassells' Crossed-Out Swastika. Tries to avoid the more obvious pitfalls: easy pathos and obvious dramatic ironies. You can easily see why his lyric gifts have always made him so deservedly respected. Look at his. The Cold Cold North: my new project
http://thecoldcoldnorth.blogspot.com/2011/01/my-new-project.html
The Cold Cold North. Thursday, January 20, 2011. I have a new project that I've been thinking about for years and I am really excited to have finally started it! As most of you know, I have voice problems caused by my cancer treatments fourteen years ago. Since then, I have been very interested in the science and culture of voice. I feel like voice is overused as a metaphor, but rarely considered as part of our physical body. How does our voice work? What happens when it fails? January 20, 2011 at 5:26 PM.

ThrippieGalore!: June 2011
http://thrippiegalore.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 21, 2011. I'm marking up the maps. Tomorrow Thrippie goes international. First stop: Paris. My colleague Leonard has given me insider info like where the best ice cream place is (Berthillon's, and Lonely Planet agrees). The weather report looks good for three days of walking (with respites, of course, in churches, museums, and cafes). As I wrote about in a post from last fall. How long did it take until he didn't have to count steps in his head? I asked. No, he said, I wanted to go to c...

ThrippieGalore!: The Brides of Others

Tuesday, August 16, 2011. The Brides of Others. Two friends of mine are getting married at the end of next month and their caterer just went out of business. Yikes! I thought maybe I should pick up my wedding dress from the store because you just never know. Who could abandon such a beautiful. To confuse the evil spirits as to which woman was the bride? Though how evil spirits could confuse irredeemable satiny Pepto Bismol confections with the white dress that's clearly the star, I’m not sure.)...While I...
