Wednesday, 7 November 2012. Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then. SWBST as referred to by my students. One of the first summarising strategies on our success criteria. Take any narrative and have students try to fill in a SWBST chart for their narrative. This was first shown to me by my colleague Shane and it works for all skills levels too. We also completed this strategy on the interactive whiteboard:. 8 June 2013 at 15:02. 8 June 2013 at 21:56. This strategy works all the time and kids respond well to it.

http://missaugello.blogspot.com/2013/06/renaming-whole-numbers.html
Sunday, 2 June 2013. When teaching place value, I believe that it is truly important that students are able to rename a number. If they can do that, it shows the students' understanding of the number. Here is what I mean by renaming. My example number is 253. Students should be able to identify that 253 can be represented as:. 2 hundreds 5 tens 3 ones. 2 hundreds 53 ones. 25 tens 3 ones. 3 June 2013 at 14:27. I may have to borrow this idea. 4 November 2013 at 08:04. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
