To Bear Christ: April 2012
http://tobearchrist.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 11 April 2012. What am I, that I should be. Upon this earth at all? That light should fall. And trees stand tall. Whilst I, alone, seem small. What am I, that he should make me. With his potter’s hands? And not reject me,. To the heap among the sands. Who am I, that he should love me,. With a love so great? A love forgiving,. A love redeeming,. A love that’s never late. Who am I, that he should die. Upon a cross for me? To take my place,. For a wretch to see. Child, brother,. Friend, lover,.

To Bear Christ: January 2012
http://tobearchrist.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, 15 January 2012. Why believe in God? He falls, screaming, in to that dark maw. Realising, only too late, that the people around him weren’t deluded in their belief that the hole existed. There was a good reason why they didn’t just stride out as he had.". What meaning do you find in this parable? When someone asks; why believe in God? But if you had to gamble? If you were blind and alone and couldn’t see the hole? This is known as Pascal’s wager. It precedes something like:. If you don’t be...

To Bear Christ: The Tongues of Trolls
http://tobearchrist.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-tongues-of-trolls.html
Thursday, 1 August 2013. The Tongues of Trolls. These social norms constrain us, explaining that not everything that goes on in our heads is ok to do in public, in the realms of speech it introduces politeness where there are certain things which it is simply unallowable to say, no matter whether that is what you believe. Yet if it is our social conventions that constrain us where does the desire to say something abusive come from? From our own nature? Posted by The Bearded Blogger. The Tongues of Trolls.

To Bear Christ: Seeing: A poem
http://tobearchrist.blogspot.com/2012/08/seeing-poem.html
Sunday, 12 August 2012. I have recently had a holiday in the lake district, a national park known for the beauty of it's surroundings. It inspired me to write the following poem. I hope that you enjoy it and, possibly, that it make you think. What do we see when we look around? The mountains, the trees, the lakes, the ground? What do we see as we travel this road? The swallows and swifts, the frog and toad? How can we see while we bustle around? Crowded and speeding through life’s vibrant sound. Hi all, ...

To Bear Christ: If Anything is Good...
http://tobearchrist.blogspot.com/2013/07/if-anything-is-good.html
Tuesday, 30 July 2013. If Anything is Good. If anything is good, think on such things. Is that what we do? Is that where our thoughts dwell? Personally I find this a huge challenge, so often my thoughts meander away from what is good towards what is not. A stray thought entices the mind to linger there, and so that stray thought grows, gnawing away at the determination not to think on such, until it is a stray thought no longer but has engulfed everything. To Bear Christ: A Prayer for Love in the Church
http://tobearchrist.blogspot.com/2013/08/a-prayer-for-love-in-church.html
Friday, 2 August 2013. A Prayer for Love in the Church. So, to encourage myself to pray more I’m going to do something I haven’t done before. Rather than letting my thoughts meander as I pray, I am going to try and organise them and commit a prayer to paper (well, to this blog anyway). Here goes, not with eloquent or wise words,…. To Bear Christ: November 2010
http://tobearchrist.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 23 November 2010. Has Science disproved God? As part of a series on apologetic teaching at church we, this week, looked at the question of whether science has disproved God, courtesy of Tim Wears. Whether the study of science is incompatible with a belief in a God and leads to the view that religion is divisive leading to oppression and violence. I hope that you find it as interesting as I did. Posted by The Bearded Blogger. Tuesday, 16 November 2010. Last weekend, I went on a weekend away with ...

To Bear Christ: October 2010
http://tobearchrist.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 29 October 2010. What happens when we are feeling sad, down, depressed? When we just have one of those days or if things are not going well? Do we give up? Or do we keep running the race set before us? Before God in prayer and petition’. Yet bringing everything to God does not imply doubt in God’s goodness or power. Job brought his complaints before God yet still believed in him and knew that he was loved by him. Posted by The Bearded Blogger. Tuesday, 26 October 2010. Raise a Cry: A poem. Of the...

To Bear Christ: April 2011
http://tobearchrist.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 25 April 2011. The soft babble of a lock,. A spider jumping fast. The afternoon did pass. The sun upon my neck,. A view unto my eye. What a world is this,. Such majesty to a-spy. Softly guided by the wind,. A painting just for me,. To sit, and wonder,. To stare and never bore. To rest and ponder. What this life is for. Posted by The Bearded Blogger.
