Life in Progress: December 2011
http://chufford.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Attempts to create a life after college. Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Anyone Beta Testing Simple.com? I don't know enough about their business model yet. It sounds like a very customer focused banking solution - basically the entire front end of the bank that you want. But it appears like they farm out the back end. Anyone know how they are making money? Are they making interest off the back end? Borrowing for super cheap rates in order to source out the front end? This is a fine biz model.). Why do I now...

Life in Progress: Chip and Pin Cards
http://chufford.blogspot.com/2014/09/chip-and-pin-cards.html
Attempts to create a life after college. Tuesday, September 02, 2014. Chip and Pin Cards. Do you know what's crazy to me? It's the chip and pin cards that our european counterpart adopted many years ago and have become standard in the EU. If you've been anywhere in western Europe in the last 5 years, you know how difficult it can be (especially outside of large cities) to make purchases with a standard US credit card that doesn't use chip and pin technology. Why don't we get them? Some Guy in Cambridge.

Attempts to create a life after college. Thursday, September 29, 2011. I love reading books on my Kindle. I even made up a song. It goes like "my kindle., my kindle., I love. my kindle. I have read books with backlit screens before and they never satisfied - your eyes just got tired after 30-60 minutes. With the e-ink screens - reading experience is much better. Plus the auto-downloading of books - awesome. So easy to do. I figured out how to download library books - SWEET! My friends put up with a lot.

Life in Progress: June 2012

Attempts to create a life after college. Thursday, June 21, 2012. The whole house buying thing has been stressful, so I've been trying to find ways to work that stress off through exercise. Plus, the cruise to Bermuda was not nice on my waistline. I'm going to stick with yoga for 20 classes. I have 19 more to go before the end of August, which means about 2X a week max, and if I go more, I'll be done with my Groupon faster. Friday, June 15, 2012. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Attempts to create a life after college. Friday, June 15, 2012. Somehow making my own soda seems less horrible that drinking the mass produced metal cans of soda. Though, it's not any more healthy with all of the sugar involved. We're supposed to go to a Roller Derby on Saturday - which should be really exciting. I've never been to a roller derby and I'm not sure if I should be scared or excited. It's kind of both. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Cooking - Engineering Style. Some Guy in Cambridge.

Life in Progress: September 2009

Attempts to create a life after college. Tuesday, September 15, 2009. Can I just say - OMG Mint.com has a fitness tab! I know most of you probably don't have fitness tabs yet (neener neener neener) - they sent me some email asking me to refer it to three friends in order to get it. But it's there, and it's fun, and slightly buggy still. Last month I failed at having a 3 month emergency fund. maybe it takes three months to register it? To anything. But it feels like a short sweet financial check list ...

Attempts to create a life after college. Tuesday, September 20, 2011. More on Mint.com. With goals, the one annoying thing that I've found is that I need to dedicate a separate account for each goal. Which means, now I'm not achieving maximum savings rate out of one account (let's be realistic. who is going to open up 5 or 6 savings accounts at the same bank? BTW: Does anyone know if I can integrate my husbands turbotax account with mine when we joint file for the first time this year?

Attempts to create a life after college. Tuesday, January 03, 2012. There's a CreditKarma.com competitor - Quizzle.com. I signed up for it today. Like CreditKarma, Quizzle can also track your score over time. The catch is, you have to log in periodically - so now I have my history in CreditKarma, and I want to use Quizzle. So screwed.
