Ye Olde Comic Book Temple: Crowdfunding meets the underdog
http://comicbooktemple.blogspot.com/2015/03/crowdfunding-meets-underdog.html
Ye Olde Comic Book Temple. The Rants, Reviews, and Ramblings of a Digital Disciple. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Crowdfunding meets the underdog. I will freely confess that I am a big fan of both crowdfunding, in general, and of Kickstarter, specifically. They both allow for creative sparks to take actual life. They make things that might otherwise be left relegated to the obscurity of the idea realm. Alone, into reality. In other words, they make dreams come true. I'll take the last one first. I've long bee...

Ye Olde Comic Book Temple: August 2014
http://comicbooktemple.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Ye Olde Comic Book Temple. The Rants, Reviews, and Ramblings of a Digital Disciple. Sunday, August 10, 2014. Meet the Maestro of Stylish Horror. As a kid growing up, I didn't like art. Not that I didn't like any art, for most assuredly, I did. Some of it, I found compelling, even back then. But, it wasn't simply art, alone, that compelled me, that drew me in, that captured my imagination and freed my mind. What boring subjects. What atrocities of disinterest! In the forum, there, I encounter a wide varie...

Ye Olde Comic Book Temple: To support or to not support: Support is not a static medium
http://comicbooktemple.blogspot.com/2015/03/to-support-or-to-not-support-support-is.html
Ye Olde Comic Book Temple. The Rants, Reviews, and Ramblings of a Digital Disciple. Sunday, March 8, 2015. To support or to not support: Support is not a static medium. There is the message, and then there is messaging. During my treks across the vastness of creativity that is the Internet, I encounter all sorts of creative lads and lasses. People who are just starting out, individuals who have been out and about for a while, and even seasoned veterans of the independent publishing market. Independent cr...

Ye Olde Comic Book Temple. The Rants, Reviews, and Ramblings of a Digital Disciple. Monday, February 23, 2015. To Patreon or not to Patreon? Is a website that bills itself as enabling fans to give ongoing support to their favorite creators. For that matter, it doesn't even have to be your favorite creators. It can be any creator who has a creator account on the Patreon site. To make a noticeable difference in the amount of support that they receive. From patrons such as myself. 1 Content that is visible.

Ye Olde Comic Book Temple: Review - Puny Mortals - Issue # 0
http://comicbooktemple.blogspot.com/2015/01/review-puny-mortals-issue-0_23.html
Ye Olde Comic Book Temple. The Rants, Reviews, and Ramblings of a Digital Disciple. Friday, January 23, 2015. Review - Puny Mortals - Issue # 0. Thou shalt not judge a book by its cover! Not only is this the case with comic books, generally, but it applies with special force in the present instance. Issue zero of Puny Mortals is one of the shortest comic books that I have read, of late. This, I assure you, is regrettable. Hailing from the press of In Comics. That I have seemingly aspired to, since then.

http://jimboswell.blogspot.com/2009/11/colouring.html
Sunday, 8 November 2009. Here's a simple panel from Project Luna,. Showing the stages of colouring: First the bare inks, then a little background colour, then I've done the "flats" (just flat basic colours - the bit that takes the most time! And finally I've added the shadows, shades and highlights. At least this is the way I do it! Next time I'll pick a more complicated panel. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Jim Boswell: My Lonely Journey to Comic Stardom!: Has it really been this long?
http://jimboswell.blogspot.com/2010/12/has-it-really-been-this-long.html
Tuesday, 14 December 2010. Has it really been this long? Wow so March was the last time I posted here? I really can't let that happen again (yes, I know I've said that before.). So what have I been up to all these months - well, work on Project Luna: 1947. Continues, and I recently had some time to really hammer out some pages and it was great fun. This book is going to be fantastic, and I'm almost at the halfway point now, when things really start to heat up! So it's been comic artist business as usual!
