Pitch to Pixel: July 2010
http://pitchtopixel.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
The music of Rob Howard. Saturday, July 31, 2010. Ok, more encouragement as Pitch to Pixel finally, at long last, enters the BLACK after one more sale (an iTunes album purchase). Thank you whoever it was, who bought the album last month or so! The thing about sales is that it says, "make more music." It works like this:. 1 I slowly, eventually get into the black, averaging just about 1-2 sales per month. I'll eventually get around to making more music. Probably before the end of 2010, maybe.". Rob Howard...

Not a professional journalist. Not an industry insider. Not someone who posts news for a gaming site. Just a fan who pays attention to what goes on. Thursday, June 27, 2013. Xbox One: Still Not Sold. To me, it goes beyond that. I don't look at just the past month and make my decision to hold back for years on purchasing the console; I take into consideration the past few years of the Xbox 360's life and judge whether or not I want a console that may be going in the same direction. And no. I don't. But th...

Not a professional journalist. Not an industry insider. Not someone who posts news for a gaming site. Just a fan who pays attention to what goes on. Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Why the Xbox One Will Have a Harder Battle Than the Xbox 360. PS2 was still running rampant in sales, and the 360 didn't look worse graphics wise and cost less. PS3 was on the ropes, and the 360/Wii were throwing the jabs. Xbox One: Ryse, Forza 5, Quantum Break. More will clearly be announced in a few weeks at E3. Easily, the article...

So how do you provide some sort of shakeup to the Mario universe? Well, the easiest would be to provide a different villain of course. Most of the spin-off games have done so whether it be Smithy from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Tatanga from Super Mario Land,. Well, that wasn't Donkey Kong. No, that honor wo...

I AM GAMER: Could AAA games benefit from indie limitations?

Not a professional journalist. Not an industry insider. Not someone who posts news for a gaming site. Just a fan who pays attention to what goes on. Friday, August 2, 2013. Could AAA games benefit from indie limitations? For example, take Limbo. Did it. Braid. Did it. And Fez. Did it. But, it also bleeds into another criticism I've seen more lately. The most frustrating part is that they overlooking what makes these games great. Yes, Fez. The drawback for most gamers is the frustrating platforming elemen...

Not a professional journalist. Not an industry insider. Not someone who posts news for a gaming site. Just a fan who pays attention to what goes on. Wednesday, April 24, 2013. I bought a Vita. Judging from their sales numbers, especially here in the States, not many people are saying that apparently. Their sales are abysmal and despite the recent surge in Japan, it clearly won't continue to sell like hotcakes there. But why would I want one? And it's only just begun. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). What the Next-Gen Consoles Need to Succeed. So what do the systems need to really differentiate themselves between the competitors? Microsoft and Nintendo know how to market their games. The same can't be said for Sony. Marketing is essential for successful games, and the biggest proof is Homefront. A game that was ap...So these ...

The music of Rob Howard. Thursday, October 21, 2010. Daniel Tidwell Rocks Out, Update. Long time no write! Well, I've been pretty busy in my life outside of music; but I still hold out hope that more music will be done sometime before the end of the year. I've had a few more sales drop in but nothing spectacular. But hey, Pitch to Pixel is in the black, so that's good! I wanted to give a shoutout to Daniel Tidwell and his amazing "vs. Video Games" album. So definitely check him out. Links to this post.
